Aud Sentiments Challenge #25 and BLOG HOP news

Hello friends.  It's Saturday, one of the best days of the week!!  So glad you stopped in today.  I'm afraid I'm two days late with my DT challenge card, but I finally completed it for this challenge which is a sentiment/card for a child.  That leaves things wide open for you, right?  There's lots of great children themed stamps... it's just choosing which one!

Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby?  And this image called 'Sleeping Infant' depicts that so well with her little feet tucked under and her little bum up in the air.  I know... awwwwwwwwwwwww!  : )  This image is from our sponsor this week, Digi Doodles.  They very generously gave the DT some of their images to play with and I just had to color up a little baby girl.  What fun!!!  Please go take a peek and their store and see their great images.

I kept the embellisments pretty simple as I think this new paper from MME is gorgeous!!  I just love their new Stella and Rose line... all four new collections!!  I still need to get Gertie and Hattie, but I'm having a great time using Hazel and Mabel.  You'll be seeing quite a bit of these in my future posts.  I just hope it doesn't get boring!!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #24

Good morning friends.  Man, the weather in my area was just wonderful yesterday and is supposed to be again today.  That really puts a smile on my face!!  Something else that puts a smile on my face is a new Aud Sentiments Challenge.  (OK... that was just too corny, wasn't it?? haha!)  The challenge theme this week is 'Get Well cards'.  What a great idea as I never have one when I need one!!  You too?

This image is called 'Little Honey's Nurse' and is from Sassy Studios, our sponsor for this challenge.  They kindly shared some images with the DT and I chose this one.  She was very fun to color... and fast!!  I think I made this card in record time!!  As always with my pinks, they are quite yucky in the photo.  Please imagine the bow and pearls and a perky, pearly pink, 'K?

I colored my nurse up in Breast Cancer awareness colors.  I have a few girlfriends that have suffered from this awful disease and know what a tough road that is to travel.  Luckily, all I've known have survived and are doing well.  Let's all pray that more and more women enjoy that outcome and that it continues for my friends.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #102

Good morning friends and family!!  Happy Sunday to you all.  Sunday... Cupcake Inspirations Challenge... they just go together.  This week we have another wonderful photo inspiration that I think you'll really love.  But first... my take on this week's challenge...

Oh yum!!  AND beautiful too!!  This is one of my favorite color combos, at least when it's nice and soft and sweet  like these cupcakes.  Hearts, roses and clover... what a great combination!!

I finally made the Teddy Bo Challenge!!

YAY!!!!  I've made a couple other Teddy Bo cards and missed the challenge deadline on each.  But... today, I'm ahead of the deadline... by 3+ hours!!!  Heeheeheehee!! 

This image is called 'sitting waiting for you'.  So sweet, isn't she???  And really, really fun to color up.  The Teddy Bo Challenge this week was to use brown and duck egg blue.  I don't really know what duck egg blue looks like, but I hope this is close!  I actually did google it and I think it's pretty good, but there were lots of duck egg blue blues.

 Since I don't have any chair or bench or other 'sit on' things, I had to sit Bea on the ribbon.  I guess that works.  Oh... I finally got the 'hanging image' with nesties to work right.  Ya know, it's the little successes that make me happy!!  How 'bout you??

Something a bit different... for me

Howdy folks!  This is just a short post to share something I tried this evening that's really different for me.  Let's just start out with the card, shall we?

And the sketch...

Ta-da!!  OK, so you say, what's the big deal, right?  Well... nothing really, except I never make cards like this.  This clean and simple format is always so appealing to me when I see others' cards, but I just don't have the talent for it.  Luckily, Card Patterns sketch for this week's challenge totally lends itself to this type of card.  I decided I was going to give it a shot as all the DT cards were so cool.  So I tried my hand at it.  What fun... and so quick, especially for me!  heehee!

Not too bad for my first attempt, huh?  I may have to try this a again in the near future.  I had to hold myself back several times from trying to add some background DP or an extra layer or two, just to have more schtuff on there.  But I'm glad I didn't add anything else.  I like it.  I hope you do too.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #99

Good morning friends.  At least it's morning here for a little while longer.  I totally forgot to post this this morning.  Now... how goofy is that!?!?!   But here I am now and so glad you came by.  It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge and once again, I think you'll love this one.  As usual, let's start out with my take on the inspiration...

This is Baby Emily from Prairie Fairy.  Isn't she the cutest little glasses-wearing baby???  I think so too.  But, let's get on with this week's photo inspiration...

Whadda ya think??  Kewl, right??  We have a little cake for inspiration this week instead of cupcakes which just increases the fun!!

Prairy Fairy kindly shared some of their images with the DT which is always so appreciated.  I loved playing with Baby Emily.  She was fun and easy too.  I glittered up her dress, scrunchie and glasses and added some tiny pearl earrings.  I really struggled with which papers to use.  It took a long time, but I finally settled on these BG Wisteria blues.  They matched the cake well and I thought the flowers pretty well matched those on the cake.

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Guest Designer

Good morning friends and neighbors!  It's Thursday!!  Oddly, I really like Thursdays as I know the weekend is now within reach and I can make it until it's here.  hahaha!  But... let's get down to business.  It's time for another Aud Sentiments Challenge.  This challenge is to use a trendy saying.  I'm not sure how 'trendy' mine is, but it fits this image perfectly!
