SC Windy Day

Happy Saturday my stamping friends.  Hope this post finds you well and enjoying some healthy creative time.  At least I find it to be healing and calming.  I'm really getting back to enjoying creating my cards again.  Soooo... I've just popped in to share another with you.  It's another Saturated Canary image... Windy Day.

I finished this a few days ago and am just now getting around to posting.  Unfortunately, my mom's currently in the hospital so my days have been busy visiting her and worrying when I'm not there.  She's doing better, so the stress is somewhat lessened and I'm grateful for that!!  I haven't colored for a few days, but think getting some 'color time' will help me stay calm and sane!!

Thank heavens for such cute images like this little gal that help me and so many of us get our minds off our busy lives or our troubles.  These are my fave colors and was soooo fun to put together.  For the 'matting' I took three Prima Bright flowers, glued them together and attached my sentiment to them.  I missed dead center, but I like the result.  Gives extra texture and just looks cute (I think).

Red, White and Blue for Teddy Bo

Edit:  Shared top 7 honors at  Tuesday Throwdown
Edit:  Shared runner up honors at Teddy Bo Challenge

Hello my stamping friends!  Did you all have a great Memorial Day weekend?  I know I did!  Just can't beat those three day weekends, right??  : )  Over the weekend, among many other things, I worked up another Teddy Bo image.  Such fun!!  This one will be for my son's birthday which is coming up quickly!!

This image is called Sausages.  Doesn't Teddy Bo look just like a home grill 'chef' getting a little overwhelmed with their brats??  {smile}  I just giggle every time I look at him.  My son is a pretty darn good grill master, so I thought this would be quite appropriate for him.  {smile again}

The Teddy Bo Challenge this time is red, white and blue.  I decided to go half between Memorial Day and Fourth of July.  There are several challenges I've seen using this color combo this week.  Lucky me!!  I added a little speckled affect on the birthday sentiment.  This was simply done by bouncing the image on the Stampin' Up real red stamp pad (old, old, old one).  And another piece of luck... I found a BG glazed brad that matches my bottom DP!  YAY!!

Smile and say cheeeeese...

Smile... it's Monday!!  LOL!  Well, it's certainly not my favorite day, but I'm going to try to make the most of it.  How 'bout you?

I worked up this wonderful Teddy Bo image for my grandson, Jackson's birthday.  I sure hope he likes it.  I just love these papers.  They work so great for boys (and men).  I so wanted to use the word 'smile' on this card, but I had a heck of a time finding the font I wanted.  My printer's still not working so I had to figure something else out.  I ended up finding these 3-D letters at Hobby Lobby.  They are really too big and kinda overwhelm the card, but I don't think it's too bad.  It did take me quite a while to cute out those silly word mats!!  Now don't look too closely... I had to 'piece' a couple of the letters.  {smile}

Edit:  Won first place honor at Dilly Beans Designers & Friday Challenge

Hello friends and stampers!!  I hope you've had a great Tuesday.  I did something unusual today.  I finished a card just a bit ago and wanted to share it with you.  It's my first Stamping Bella Uptown Girl... Claudia Has Candy.  I just think these uptown girls are da bomb!!  I'm planning on getting a couple (well... maybe a few more than that!!) more when I have the chance.

Isn't she just fab???  And I also got to use my new (to me) Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two DP.  So fun!!  I have really enjoyed working on Ms. Claudia.  I've really been out of the creating mood for quite a few months now.  I've made a couple cards during this time, but it was such a huge chore and not the pleasure it usually brought me.  But, I felt that pleasure again with this card.  So I'm hopeful I'll be able to get back into the swing of things again.  {crossing fingers!}

Happy Birthday to You...

Happy Friday stampers!!  Wow... two posts in one week!!  Impressive for me after my long absence, right??  OK... not so much as I'm sharing a card I made back in December for my granddaughter's 13th birthday.  I'm just now getting it posted!  And actually, I'd colored the image way before that.

I used a fun Kenny K's image (aren't they all fun?) for this card.  And the fabulous BG papers from the curio collection.  Sa-weet!!  Madeline loves to sing and dance, so that's what I wanted to put on her card.  I thought Mad Skillz was perfect!!  The 'singing' sentiment was computer generated.  I'm not 100% happy with it, but it's exactly what I wanted the card to say.

Not a whole lot more to say about this one.  She was fun to color and work up.  Hope you enjoy her too!  Thanks for stopping by today folks.  Have a grrrrrreat weekend!!

Oh where... oh where have I been?!?!

Hello stamping friends.  Wow... I've been gone for ages!!!  I'm so sorry I didn't even provide an explanation post for you all.  I've just come through something I never thought I would encounter.  An absolute creative black-out!!  I just had zero, yes zero interest in creating cards or projects!!  Isn't that amazing??  I thought it would be a very short-lived ailment, but, as you can see, it's been nearly eight months, almost to the day.  I was starting to wonder if I'd ever get my mojo back!!  Yeesh, it's kinda scary when you don't want to do one of the things you love the most.  But, I decided to just ride it out and not push myself to do anything I wasn't ready to do.  Now, I'm ready again, although I may not be back full force for awhile.  I see I've lost a couple followers and to those who have been loyally sticking around, I treasure you.  I do hope you'll come back now and then and check out my blog.  I love having you come by.

Sooo... after such a long time, I've created another card for my granddaughter, Madeline...

TADA!!!  {smile}  You don't know how good it feels to share my creativity with you again!  {smile again}.  This is a fabulous Sassy Cheryl's image I just had to have.  It's called 'I Love You This Much (girl)'.  Madeline doesn't like pink, so I chose these papers from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two - Sunshine paper pad which I just love!  And I decided to add some shock value with a limited number of red hearts and button.  Did it work to provide a bit more interest??  Love you Madeline!!

The L O V E stamped on the top left, is from a small clear stamp collection called Smooch from Technique Tuesday which I bought from one of my visits to my fave store... Archiver's.  So during my hiatus from crafting and blogging, the shopping didn't stop!!  hahaha!  Although it was grrrreatly reduced.  I kept thinking maybe the next purchase would inspire me back into it.  But, what I really needed was just time.

I guess that's all for today my friends.  I know I'll be back sooner than eight months now.  Do come back, 'K?  You're all the greatest!!  Now... I think I'll go see if this fits into any challenges!!  Oh yes... there are a few...

Aud Sentiments Challenge #31

Edit:  Won card of the week honor at Word Play Weekend #6

Happy Thursday friends.  What's Thursday mean?  First of all, it means the weekend is almost here!!  YAY!!  But even more importantly, it means it's time for a new Aud Sentiments challenge.  Another YAY!  This week our challenge is to use a Sentiment about Food/Drink.  We all like food and drink challenges don't we?  hahaha!  Here's my stab at the challenge...

Look... a pie man!!  "How Sweet"!!!  This image was soooo fun to color.  The sketch is from CardPatterns and the first time I saw it I said this is it.  It almost looks like we're looking in a little cafe window and watching the pie man wheel his pies around.  I think that turned out pretty great.  Thank you CardPatterns.  I used a couple of dark (and I mean dark) brown buttons, then added some metal brads for something a little different.  Talk about different... I thought I'd chosen all antique brass brads, but getting out in better light, I think I have 1 antique brass, 1 gold and 1 silver.  Yikes!!  Oh well... I think it almost works.  Antique brass for the brown, gold for the olive green and silver for the blue!?!  OK... maybe not, but I'm tryin'!!

Our sponsor for this challenge is once again the great Robyn's Fetish.  They have some wonderful stamping needs including great images.  Take, for example, pie man.  The lucky random winner will receive ????.  Great, right?

Other challenges:

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #116

Good Sunday morning my friends.  I hope your day started bright and shiny and continues that way.  Another Sunday?  FABulous... that means another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  WooHOO!  I think you're gonna love this week's cuppies.  But I say that every week, don't I?  : )  Let's get started, 'K?  Here's how this week's cupcakes inspired me...

Isn't this a fun card?  It sure was fun to make!!  I think this is the first time I've gotten to try paper piecing with digis.  I've been printing the images at work (using my own papers).  It's later when I think it sure would be nice to paper piece this or that.  But after all the resizing, I'm not confident about going back getting the same size.  So this time I printed them at the same time.  Really works swift when you use your brain!!!  Now... let's look at our inspiration for this challenge...

I just think these are wonderful!  Soooo summery with their leaves, ladybugs, daisies and mushrooms.  And I love the colors.  Wouldn't you like to try your hand at these babies??  Come on... I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Our sponsor this week is Amber Ink.  One lucky winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to their store!  WoW!!  They provided the DT with some images to use and I just loved this Mushroom Border image.  And that Love Bug sentiment is just darling too.    As you can see, I've added plenty of little ladybugs to my card.  Probably too many, but I just love those little things.  The daisy ended up having to go there.  I tried my hand at just adding some little dot daisies with my Signo white pen and lemon yellow liquid pearls for the center.  Well... as you can guess, I didn't like it.  So I took them off... or tried to.  the centers scraped off easy enough and normall I can remove the white inks with a wet tissue.  But, this doesn't work as well when you're doing it on the chalk inks!  I tried a few things to 'fix' it, but it just got worse!  So, as I said, the daisy had to go there!  : )
