Friday Mashup #24

Good morning all and Merry Christmas Eve.  As you're reading this, I'm probably traveling to my sister's.  This is the big day for me and my family as we've always celebrated on Christmas Eve.  It's a great night and we all try to not miss it!  Now, that means Christmas is pretty quiet, but that's OK too!

I was the Friday Mashup winner for their challenge #22, making me a Mashup Maven!!  : )  That also meant I could join along with their challenge as a Guest Designer.  I jumped at the chance as I love doing GD gigs!!  They are just plain fun.
The challenge this week is a color challenge using marina mist, real red and old olive.  That's a great combo, don't you think??  Anyway... I enjoyed using those colors together.

I made up this little sweetie for today.  Doesn't he look to snug in that little stocking?!?!?!?  I purchased him last year, but didn't have time to work him into a card.  Well... I made it juse in time this year!  YAY!!!  As you can see, I went with a really simple layout.  I've been doing that more and more lately.  Especially during Christmas season when I'm so darned busy!!

I chose BG's jovial collection for my background as it has all three of the colors I was needing.  It really does have some olive included, but you sure can't see much of it, can you?  hahaha!  The sentiment is computer-generated.  I added pearls to the top and bottom, then gave it some sparkle with a bit of glitter.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #90

Edit:  This card won Top 3 honors at Aud Sentiments challenge #18.

Happy Sunday morning folks!  I hope your weekend is going well.  Are you still baking Christmas goodies, or wrapping the presents, or shopping?!?!?  Not me... I haven't started these things yet!  I know!!!  But, I don't have tons to do this year, so it should be fine.  {fingers crossed}.

As you know, if it's Sunday, it's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  Let me tell you, you're going to love this week's inspiration!!  I know I did!!  This is my take on the challenge.  And this is the inspiration...

Isn't he just wonderful?  I don't know where Rachel, our leader extraordinaire, found this but it's awesome!!  And perfect for our last challenge before Christmas.  He's got the happiest face, doesn't he??  Now the image I decided to go with is from Sassy Cheryl's .  I just thought he was one great santa!  Oh... and by the way, Sassy Cheryl's is having a Merry Christmas sale from today until December 24th

This image was so fun to color up.  But the rest of the card was very, very frustrating!  Of course, no one's fault but my own.  I couldn't decided which DP to use, then accessorizing wasn't working out very easily as I was using a different sentiment which was a little longer than this one and just didn't look right no matter how many ways I changed it around!!  Whew, that was quite a sentence!!  So, I selected a smaller sentiment and things began to go a little better.  Not much, but a little!  {smile}

Our sponsor this week is http://www.sparklecreationsrubberstamps.com/">Sparkle Creations.  They are not only offering a Cupcake Ruby stamp to the random winner, but also 10% off to those who participate in our challenge.  Great, eh??  So, no excuses... come on and play!

Love these snowmen...

Edit:  This card won Top 3 honors at 4 Crafty Chicks challenge #16.

Hello again my friends.  Welcome, so glad you've stopped by!  Are any of you like me and just love snowmen??  I have recently discovered that I am truly and deeply in love with Sassy Cheryl's wonderful ones!!!  I just can't get enough of them... they simply make me smile!!  : )

This one is called Snowman Baring Gifts.  Isn't he just great??  Once again I've used my prismacolor pencils to work him up.  I chose the colors from some new DP I got at my fave store, Archiver's.  I thought this paper was so bright and cute!  I was going to go with Merry & Bright as my sentiment, but I printed it off too danged big so I went with joy instead!  : )

As usual, my pinks don't look anything like real life!!  My camera or lighting or whatever it is, just doesn't capture it properly.  Would you believe the ribbon is actually hot pink, not red??  {sigh}  As you can see, I'm still not over my snowflake fetish and am pasting them on everything I can!!  : )  That's OK... I like 'em!

Watch for another snowman card over the weekend.  I just found Sassy Cheryl's Designs blog!!  What a great place to go look around.  She has a COLOR ME challenge every Tuesday that sounds really fun, plus you can get her brand new images at a reduced price.  I can't believe I didn't know about this before, but so glad I found it now.

Cappuccino Anyone?

Good morning friends.  Goodness... it's less than two weeks until Christmas and I've still got so many images I wanted to work up for cards!!!  ACK!!  I think some will have to hold over to next year, don't you!!  But, I'll get a few of them done.  Like this wonderful digital image from Sassy Cheryl's called 'Cappuccino Snowman'.

Isn't he fab-u-lous???  Actually ALL Cheryl's snowman are super cute and so fun to work with.  I'll warn you... it'll be very hard to decide which is your favorite!!  You may have to get more than one, which you'll see in a few days is exactly what I was forced to do!!!  : )  For this card, I decided to switch to my prismacolor pencils and it was really fun to use them again... really fun.

Snowflakes, snowflakes, snowflakes!!  I can't seem to get enough of them!  I think this is the third card in a row I've added them!  Well... I love 'em and think they add lots of wintery character to our creations.  These are a little different for me.  I bought them Saturday at my favorite stamping/crafting store in Kansas City... Archiver's.  They are foam.  You folks have probably already seen these, but I'm always a little behind the times!  : )  I plopped them on then added a blue gem in their centers.

I also got this great paper at Archiver's.  The images about cover them all up, but there are Christmas greeting running through some of the stripes.  I really need to get better at figuring out how to size my digis so as not to take up the entire card, but not so small as to make coloring very challenging.  Does anyone have some hints?  I guess I just have a hard time visualizing.

Challenges:
A Spoonful of Sugar - christmas cards

Isn't this a fun one???  I love this image from Tiddly Inks.  It's called 'Bah Huggabuggs'.  {smile}  I just thought it was such an adorable Christmas image.  What brought about this card?  This week's photo inspiration, which is...

Now that's a perfect Christmas cupcake, don't ya think?  It was very easy to find my inspiration for this one.  Holly, holly, holly, and I wanted to try to get a Christmas tree in there as well.  Did it!!!  : )  By the way... our sponsor this week is Lawn Fawn.  They are offering this great stamp set for the lucky winner of this challenge.  Great, right?

I'm not sure you can tell very well from these photos, but I've glittered up the little huggabugs fluff on their santa hats, the star, the two little ornaments and a little on their wings.  I did a double edge punch for a lacey affect, then added a ribbon down the middle of it.  The sentiment is from Bizzy Becs Store blog and, believe it or not, they are FREE!!  Yep, I couldn't believe it either.  If you'd also like to share in Bizzy Bec's generous nature, go HERE.

Birthday for a Special Girl

Edit:  This card won Top 3 honors at 4 Crafty Chicks challenge #14!  : )

Hello friends!  YAY... it's the weekend!  I'm always so happy on Saturday and Sunday!  : )  I bet most of you are too, right??

Today I'm sharing a birthday card I made for my granddaughter, Madeline.  It was her birthday yesterday and she just loved it!!  She's one of my biggest stamping fans.  All the rest of my family enjoys receiving them, but isn't all that excited about it.  Madeline is and I really appreciate that.  It's really sweet of her.

You can probably tell from the image I've selected, but Madeline is crazy for cats... especially kittens!  When I saw this image from A Day for Daisies, I knew I had to have it for Madeline's b-day card.  I just recently found these folks and I just love their products!  Wonderful images and they have new releases every Friday!!  It's fun finding new sources of great images!!

I have a lot of differing items on here... lace and pearls, the flannel plaid-type DP, and a pewter charm.  I like to do that.  Mix things up or do the unexpected, at least in small doses.  It was so, so fun to color up these kitties!  Just a couple plops of copic markers here and there and they're done.  Cute, aren't they??

A Lifetime Together

Good Thursday folks.  Let me first say... THANK YOU to all the men and women that have risked or given their lives to keep our country free.  Your sacrifices are truly appreciated!!  Have a HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY!!!

Now for stamping.  My son got married on October 16 and I've still not gotten that card posted... until today.  I looked high an low for the best stamp for this occasion.  Then I found this wonderful Lili of the Valley stamp called Wedding Couple.

I actually saw this image on Dena's Stamping Corner blog.  I took a LOT of inspiration from her wonderful creation, then added some of my favorite embellies and touches.  Thank you for the nudge in the right direction Dena!  Your work is always so wonderful!!

Ryan and Lindsay's wedding colors were eggplant and limey green.  It was really so beautiful!!  I tried to give this little gal's roses an 'eggplanty' look, but I believe I fell a bit shy of that goal.  Oh well... it's still in the same purple family, right?  hahaha!

Their wedding was such a wonderful success.  It went off without a hitch and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.  The following morning, the bride and groom had immediate family over for brunch and to share with them as they opened their remaining gifts.  That was a really special way to end the weekend.  I gave them this card when everyone else had left.  They really seemed to like it!!  : )  It was definitely made with love!!

I guess that's it for this post.  Hope you've enjoyed your visit enough to come see me again sometime.  Take care and enjoy the rest of your day!!

A Very Sweet Christmas Pair

Hello folks.  How's it goin' for you today?  Pretty good on my end.  Yesterday wasn't all that hunky dorrie so it was good to come home and do some coloring and designing.  I'm getting into the Christmas mood.  Well... the Christmas card mood.  OK, I know... stop 'talking' and start showing.  Will do!  Here's the pair I think is so sweet...

This is Stampavie's adorable image called Bear and Robin.  I'd seen this soooo much last year and finally purchased it at the very end of the season.  I didn't get to use it last year, but finally... I worked it up.  Sooo FUN!!  The funny thing is, I was working on the bear last night and was so frustrated as nothing was looking like I wanted it to.  Instead of getting more and more unhappy, I put it down for the night and would try again the next day (today).  Well, lo and behold!!!  It looked pretty darned good to me!  I really need to keep that in mind.  It may not be as bad as I think.  Waslk away and come back to it later.  Does this happen to any of you too???

This was the first time I've used my BG jovial paper pad.  I decided to go the red and black route as I just love plaids, especially these red and black plaids.  Doesn't it just look like a great pair of flannel jammies??  I really ended up liking this card except it still feels like it's missing something.  I don't know what so I'm not touchin' it!!

I used MS snowflake punches, then glittered them up and added a red button to each.  Now those little snowflakes around the sentiment are just some little dimensional stickers.  They came as white flakes with blue centers.  I used my copic marker (R27) to change them to red.  I'd heard about doing this, but had never tried it myself.  I've got to say this is sooooo kewl!!!  Makes me happy!!  I paper pieced teddy's little muffler.  Oh and I didn't do so well keeping the VersaMagic chalk ink of my little birdie.  She's a mess in these pictures, but please know I have now gone over all stamped lines with a Zig black pen.  Looks much better !  : )

I was able to work this card into several challenges for this week so better get started on that list!

Challenges:
Sketch Saturday - the SKETCH
Little Red Wagon - use the color red

Happy Birthday!

To no one in particular right now.  I just made up this card and thought I'd share it with you today.  I worked this up about a month ago, but just never got around to posting it.  I notice there are several birthday challenges this go round so thought it was a good time to post it.

This is another Tiddly Inks digital image.  Man... that's two in a row!!  Told ya I loved the Tiddly Inks store!!  : )  It's funny because the first time I printed off this image, I thought she was too small.  Then I printed of this one and found she was pretty darn big.  But I wanted to use her anyway... just not much creativity on the layout!!

Tiddly Inks has a line of these Lilly Bean images and they're all really fun.  This one worked up really quick, add some glitter, a few buttons and ribbon and you're good to go.

Challenges:
Party Time Tuesdays - anything goes birthday
7 Kids College Fund - birthdays
Lexi's Creations - birthdays
2 Sisters Challenge - birthday
Gingerloft - use buttons

A quick post today, but still so glad you came on by and hope you'll come back soon!

Feeling so sassy!

Happy Sunday friends.  I certainly do hope yours is going well.  I'm running late today for posting the latest and greatest Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  Just wait until you see this week's inspiration photo.  I think you'll LOVE it!  But first, my interpretation...

It's Alice and she's from Tiddly Inks, our sponsor this week.  I am just crazy for Tiddly Inks images and have quite a few.  Tiddly Inks kindly provided a couple different images to the DT to help us with our challenge this week.  Suh-weet!!! And pssst... the winner of this week's challenge will receive a $10 gift voucher!!  Now that'll put a smile on your face!  Oh... and now for the inspiration...

Ain't those GREAT????  Man, that's a LOT of work!  From hats, to tea sets, to cheshire cats and more... they're just so darn cute.  Great find Rachel!!  The blue color really jumped out at me so that's exactly what I went with.  I'm not sure I did those cupcakes justice, but I had fun!

Once again I've chosen to keep the layout and embellies really simple.  I got this layout from Card Positioning Systems.  It was just what I was looking for.  The sentiment I went with a rub-on.  Sooooo easy!  : )

Other challenges:
CPS - the SKETCH
Corrisive Challenge - black and blue
Anything Goes - the letter B (for blue)
My Time to Craft - quick and cute
Creative Card Crew - let's punch it
Crafty Creations - fables and fairy tales
Stamp Insantiy - punch drunk
Sweet Stampin Challenge - inspiration photo
Aly's Sunday Sketch - all about music - song (Her Name is Alice from the latest Alice in Wonderland movie).

I guess that's about it today.  Again... have a wonderful Sunday and we'll see you soon.  : )
