This Heart's for You

This is my second post today so to view the Stamp Something DT post, click HERE or scroll down.  THANKS!

Good morning and a very good Friday to you all!  It's the start of the weekend (in a few hours) and I'm just soooo excited.  My grandkids are coming to visit and I can't wait!!  So I'll get my work work done, straighten up my house and go pick 'em up.  Yipee!!

But, in the mean time, let's talk HEARTS.  That's the theme for the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge this time.  Isn't that handy for this time of year??  It's certainly helping me out!  The hardest part of this challenge?  Which hearts to use!!  There are so many wonderful hearts options out there.  Can't use 'em all, but they're all so cute!!  I must say... I do like what I finally decided on.  This little Whipper Snapper cupid bear.  Come on now... all together... awwwwwwwwwwwww.  LOL!!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Stamp Happens.   I hope you'll have some time to go browse around their store a little while.  They have some great stamping stuff.  They were kind enough to provide the DT some DPs and matching stickers.  Sadly I couldn't find a way to work the cute little stickers they included in my stash, so I'll use them sometime soon.  Aren't the DPs they sent my way just great!?!  They're from two different Bo Bunny sets and I may just have to get me some.

You have to look very close, but I stamped the light pink cs with a Whimsie Doodles heart from the L'il Cupid set... now sold as rubber stamps (see SALE information in my sidebar)!!  I stamped these with VersaMark so they are very subtle.  I sponged the edges of the image with VersaMagic pixie dust and used white glitter on his wings.

For this layout, I used the Our Creative Corner challenge which is a great sketch this week.  Thank you OCC!!

That's it for today.  Don't forget to go play along at Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge.  We can't wait to see what you create!!

THANKS!
Denise

Delightfully Delicious Somethings

Mmmmmmmmmm... it's a yummy challenge this week at Stamp Something.  We'd like you to use food images, embellishments, papers, whatever.  Just include food!

Here's what I came up with and I must say, I really like it.  I love the image and like the colors and the little pow of pink.  And I just loved it when I found that Perfect Pair ribbon the other day at Michael's!!  I just had  to have it!  Isn't it just 'perfect' for this image???

Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights which is always a treat.  They've got some really great images so we hope you'll go take an e-stroll through their store.

As I mentioned, this card was so fun to make.  When I first saw this image I thought in the back of my brain that I remembered I has some DP with pears on it... somewhere!  Well, lo and behold I found it!  Plus the Perfect Pair ribbon.  So I had great 'ingredient' to make this Delightfully Delicious card.  I think I would have given my right arm for a pear charm!!  Well... it would have been fun, but maybe not my whole arm!!  LOL!

Don't ya love this layout?  I used the Card Patterns great sketch this week.  Thanks so much gals.  I LOVED it!!

Thanks so much for poppin' in today.  I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Leave a comment if you're able.  They just make my day!!

With Owl My Heart

This is just going to be a quick little post to share a card I made yesterday.  This is a new digital image from Whimsie Doodles and it's called Owl my heart.  I just thought it was aDORable!!

I just got this BG sugar  rush 6x6 pad and thought it would really help Ms. Owl stand out beautifully.  And I think it worked!!  I doodled around the main image as well as sponging with some VersaMagic wheat.

One more picture... a close up of Ms. Owl.

The challenges:
1.  CPS - Card Sketches - the SKETCH.  However, I missed getting this posted yesterday so I could enter into their challenge.  Oh well... thanks for the great sketch gals!!
2.  BasicGrey Challenges - Animals
3.  Allsorts Challenge - Hearts and Flowers
4.  Crafty Catz - LOVE with hearts

Tickle your funny bone

Good morning stamper friends!  It's Friday again and that alone brings a smile to my face.  But, the Stamp Something Challenge  is going to bring even more!!  This week's theme is Funny Somethings.  Sounds good already, doesn't it?  Well, we'd like you all to join in and make a project with something funny... something that will make us smile... better yet, chuckle.  Here's what I came up with and I hope it does its job.

Heeheeheehee!!!  I just LOVE this guy!  I've seen cards made up with him all over the place and every time he makes me giggle.  I'm giggling right now as I type this!!  I mean come on... those eyes!!!  Hahahahaha!!  So I finally had to have him for myself and have now, after many months, finally inked him up and had tons of fun doing it.

I worked this card up in really bright colors as that's how I envision Mexican themes... bright, beautiful, bold colors.  And red is one of my favorites.  I think he looks good in his little red sombrero!!  : )  This stamp is a small clear acrylic set that also includes a cactus and a sentiment 'Muchos Gracias' which I was going to use.  But then I ran across this "what'z UP?" stamp and just had to use it with him.  Can't you just envision him saying that?  WHAT'Z UP???  Emphasis on the UP plez!  Hahahahaha!!

For the layout I used the sketch from Taylored Expressions.  I thought I'd be too late to enter, but now I see I have until 10am CT so YAY!!  Thank you TE ladies!!

The sponsor for this week's challenge is Sunshine and Giggles who is offering three (3) digi images to the randomly drawn winner.  I hope you'll have time to go visit their site as well as all the DT's blogs as they've done some great work... as usual.  Come along and join in and... make something funny!!

Thanks so much for stopping in today.  I love it when you do that!!!  Hope to see you again soon.

So Pretty in Pink

Yep... more pink.  And I'm really talkin' PINK!!  : )  Well... it went so well with the image and a challenge, etc, etc.  I just had to include the pink.  However, it is very disappointing to view the lovely pink I see IRL as the washed out color you see in these photos.  I'll have to see what I can do about improving that.  Any suggestions???  I'd LOVE to hear 'em.

Now... just looke at that face!!  Isn't this little thing just the cutest???  I know... I think I say that with every image I work up!  LOL!!  I really do like this one so much as she is cute, sweet, dainty and feminine.  Thus all the pink and pearls.  : )  And what I wouldn't give to have eyelashes like that (without buying them at the drugstore)!!

I've found several challenges to enter this into:
1.  The Pink Elephant - the SKETCH.  My card is almost identical to the sketch image what with color and everything.  LOL!!

2.   Anyone for Anya? - Black & White + 1
3.  Cute Card Thursday - Pink & (a little) Grey (and black???)
4.  Stamping Vacation - Pick 3 Challenge - I picked:  1. use any color that reminds you of spring;  2. use a flower image;  3. use a butterfly in some way.
5.  SophistiCat Challenge - Spring

That's all I got today.  So glad you came by and hope you will again... soon!

My Extra Day Off...

Good morning stampers!!  Did you all have a great weekend?  I sure did and it's not quite over yet as I get one extra day this week.  Happy Martin Luther King, Jr Day.  What an amazing man!  And all these years after his life was ended, his dream is still alive.  : )

Here's a card I finished last night.  I purchased a few new Sugar Nellie stamps as I LOVE to participate in The Sugar Bowl challenge.  This was one of them and I just had to ink her up first.  So proud and confident with that jaunty little walk!!  I fell in love with her the first time I ever saw her.

Now... I just had the best time distressing on this card.  I know... sounds goofy!  But, I'd lost the little distresser tool I'd purchased several months ago (before I ever even used it!!) and have looked high and low for the darned thing.  Well I finally found it last week and couldn't have been happier!!  Funny but finding that little 2" tool just made my day and still makes me smile!  I've been ready to do some distressing ever since and got to this week.  WooHOO!!  : )

I tried something a little different with the sponging around the edges.  I used both blue and green chalk ink attempting to pull both colors out from the papers.  However, I ended up a little 'green heavy' and would have preferred more blue as there's just not much green showing from the DPs.  Must plan better for that!!

Now... the challenges:
1.  The Sugar Bowl - the SKETCH plus 'please include' distressing

2.  Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Shabby Chic
3.  Creative Card Crew - Distressing
4.  Our Creative Corner - Color challenge... blue and green
5.  Copics Colour Challenge - B97, YG07 and W-5  (I got pretty close)

I guess that's all I have today.  So glad you popped by.  Come back soon!!

Whimsie Doodles Penguin Muffin Top

Just OUT... Whimsie Doodles rubber stamps... and this is my first card using some of those stamps!

Do you likie???  I think she's FABulous!  And I bet she does waddle, don't you???  It was sooo fun to color her especially since I could once again work with my copics.  If you're new to my blog, my printer ink and copics just don't like each other.  So, when I work with digis, I have to use my prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Now... don't get me wrong.  Those are way fun too!!  I just like to have a chance to choose.  Actually, I almost felt like a copics beginner again, but it slowly came back to me and began to flow a little better after a while.  : )  FUN!!

I think I've worked it so this card will fit several challenges:
1.  Crazy 4 Challenges - the SKETCH

2.  Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge - Bling in the New Year
3.  Cupcake Inspiration Challenge - Cupcake Inspiration challenge -- oops, I missed this one.  : (

4.  Easy Breezy "Kewl" Colour Challenge - some of my favorites!

5. Pals Paper Arts - Inspiration challenge

Thanks a Latte -- Stamp Something Challenge

This is my second post today so please scroll down to see the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge DT card.  THANKS!

Hello again.  I'm back to post my little card for today's new Stamp Something challenge.  This week we're having a color challenge... blue and white.  Sounds so easy, but for me a two color challenge is very challenging.  I guess that's the point, huh!!  Well... here's what I came up with...

Now... while I struggled with this challenge (stop laughing!!), I like what I ended up with.  I worked up a smaller card than usual (4.5 x 4.5) as I didn't want to overwhelm the image and wanted to keep it simple.  I paper-pieced both the dress and the wallpaper.  So not much coloring to do on this one.

All these papers are from the BG marrakech series.  The background paper is one of my faves.  I don't really know why... it just appeals to me.  To get the image to lay flat over the rick-rack ribbon, I glued about four layers of navy cs scraps rather than using pop dots or something like that.  That way the color blends perfectly and I don't have to use markers on the white dots' edges to hide them.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Whimsy Stamps.  It'll be well worth your time if you decide to join in with us.

Other challenges:
1.  The Play Date Cafe - Color Challenge.  I hope my entry is acceptable!!

2.  Lili of the Valley Challenge - A Thank You card
3.  Color Create Challenge - Kraft, Blue and White.  I'm hoping my 'kraft colored' hemp cord will qualify me!!  : )

As always, thanks for popping in.  Come back real soon, 'K?

A Touch of Orange -- Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge

Good morning all!  Glad you've stopped by to share in my latest creation for the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge.  This week's challenge theme is WINTER which leaves it wide open for us ladies!  : )

Whoa!!!  That'll wake ya up!  I picked colors as I went along.  Started with the silver puffy jacket and black jeans.  Then wondered what 'accent' color to use for his scarf and boots.  I opted for this yellowy-orange.  I like it but WOW!!  : )  And add the pop of hot pink on Mr. Snowman's top hat!!

Our sponsor for this challenge is StampInsanity Stamps and they generously provided us with 'Henry's Snowman', a digital image/sentiment to work with if we so chose.  I definitely chose as it's unusual to be able to include the peace sign on winter cards... either in the two finger 'V' sign OR in the sentiment.  I thought it was tons of fun.  StampInsanity Stamps are available for purchase only at Stamp Happens.  I hope you'll go take a look... lotsa fun!!

I've added a few specials you probably can't see very well in the pictures.  I glittered up parts of the snowman and the snowflake.  Last week when I was out in the snow with my dog, I looked around and noticed real snow does indeed looks glittery.  I was just beautiful and I've decided I'll be including glitter on most of my snow pieces.  : )  I also added white fluff to the snow on the ground... can't hardly see it but it's fun to touch!!  I also used crystal effects on his winter boots making them more waterproof.  : )  The snowflake is from a new MS punch I purchased.  I love the design, but it's fragile as all get out.  The longer parts kept falling off... just falling off!  It took four tries to get one glued on without it tearing apart.  ARGH!!!

Oh... I almost forgot!!!  I used a few other challenges to help me out with my card:
1.  Mojo Monday - GREAT sketch
2.  Three Clovers Designs - Baby It's Cold Outside! (winter theme)
3.  Everybody-Art-Challenge - Snowflakes
4.  Crafty Creations - Textures
5.  Creative Inspirations - New Year, New Products.  The image, sentiment and MS punch.
6.  ABC Challenge - 'L' is for Layering
7.  Charisma Cardz Challenges - Anything new
8.  Stampin' B's Design Team - Make a Winter Fun card

I guess I've rambled enough here for now.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you have a chance to join us in our challenge this week.  Take care for now and you'll come back soon.

Pink and Penguiny

And I love it!!  Pink is one of my favorite colors and sometimes I just can't get enough of it!  Obviously, this was one of those times!!  heeheehee!  Anyhoooo... here's another Valentines card I made with a Whimsie Doodle image from the Little Cupid set.  Isn't she sweet???  You can also make little guy penguins with this set.

I just adore this Basic Grey paper, don't you???  It so, so, soooooo perfect for Valentine's Day cards.  This card is mega girlie with lots of pink, glitter and gems.  Makes me smile!!  : )  As does this cute image.

Now... what is it about angel wings?  I just have to put glitter on 'em.  I just can not have plain wings.  What's up with that?!?  You too?  Funny!  Also on this card I did NO shading at all.  I don't really think she needs it!  She's adorable just as she is.

This card will be posted to several challenges:

1.  Whimsie Wednesday Challenge (on Paper Craft Planet) - Keep it Real.  This means replace a small part of your stamped/digi image with the real thing.  I've replace cupid's arrow heart with a pink gem heart
2.  Stamping 411 - the SKETCH.  Simple and straightfoward.  LOVE it!

3.  Digital Tuesday Challenge - Valentines
4.  A Spoonful of Sugar - Hearts  {I think I've covered this one!!:)
5.  By the Cute and Girly - New... my new digi image from my new Design Team gig for Whimsie Doodles!

Friends are Treasures

Good morning stampers!  It's Friday and that is always a good thing!!

Today is another new Stamp Something challenge and what a great one it is!!  This week, Sketch Something... a sketch is being provided by Denise (the other one) to help you get started with your project.  Isn't it a great one?!?!?!

Here's what I've come up.

Isn't this image just precious???  Our sponsor this week is Wags 'n Whiskers and they have generously supplied each DT member a stamp that's now available with their new release.  This little cutie is called Bear Hug.  It makes me think of giving your best buddy a big ole squeeze!!  After all, we can't ever get too many hugs, can we?!

Now... for the sentiment I used a rub on.  I have never done that before!!  I always felt it was a little like cheating.  I mean if you're a stamper, you must stamp!!  Now I think... oh phooey!  That's just plain silly!  Stampers are able to do a multitude of things and placing a little transparency to your project should be one of them.  : )  Anyway, I ended up kinda liking it (but I'll still stamp more often than not).  Of course, even with this simple task I have room for improvement!  I got a corner kinda folded over, ever so slightly.  Then, when attempting to fix it, it got worse instead of better, so I just stopped and didn't touch it any more!!!  heeheehee.  Something else to add to my 'improve on' list!!

I hope you'll have time to join us this week at Stamp Something.  We'd love to see you.  Thanks for stopping in today.  As always, your comments are very heart-warming to me and I so appreciate your taking the time to leave one!
