Something a bit different... for me

Edit:  Named one of the Super 6 for Sketch #103 at CardPatterns

Howdy folks!  This is just a short post to share something I tried this evening that's really different for me.  Let's just start out with the card, shall we?

And the sketch...

Ta-da!!  OK, so you say, what's the big deal, right?  Well... nothing really, except I never make cards like this.  This clean and simple format is always so appealing to me when I see others' cards, but I just don't have the talent for it.  Luckily, Card Patterns sketch for this week's challenge totally lends itself to this type of card.  I decided I was going to give it a shot as all the DT cards were so cool.  So I tried my hand at it.  What fun... and so quick, especially for me!  heehee!

Not too bad for my first attempt, huh?  I may have to try this a again in the near future.  I had to hold myself back several times from trying to add some background DP or an extra layer or two, just to have more schtuff on there.  But I'm glad I didn't add anything else.  I like it.  I hope you do too.

Challenges:
Card Patterns - the SKETCH
Ooh La La Creations - pink, pink and more pink
The Crazy Challenge - baby love
The Pixie Cottage - something cute
Stampavie and more - welcome

As always, thank you for coming by.  Come back soon, 'K?

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #99

Good morning friends.  At least it's morning here for a little while longer.  I totally forgot to post this this morning.  Now... how goofy is that!?!?!   But here I am now and so glad you came by.  It's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge and once again, I think you'll love this one.  As usual, let's start out with my take on the inspiration...

This is Baby Emily from Prairie Fairy.  Isn't she the cutest little glasses-wearing baby???  I think so too.  But, let's get on with this week's photo inspiration...

Whadda ya think??  Kewl, right??  We have a little cake for inspiration this week instead of cupcakes which just increases the fun!!

Prairy Fairy kindly shared some of their images with the DT which is always so appreciated.  I loved playing with Baby Emily.  She was fun and easy too.  I glittered up her dress, scrunchie and glasses and added some tiny pearl earrings.  I really struggled with which papers to use.  It took a long time, but I finally settled on these BG Wisteria blues.  They matched the cake well and I thought the flowers pretty well matched those on the cake.

Other challenges:
Totally Stampalicious - bling, glitter or glitz
Ooh La La Creations  - for someone special
7 Kids College Fund  - calling all squares ... design a square card

Again... thanks for coming by today.  I hope you've found the inspiration to pop over to CIC and join in this week's challenge.  Have fun with us!!

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Guest Designer

Good morning friends.  Up and at 'em and all that jazz.  Today's post is brought to you by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Some time back they asked if I'd like to be a GDT for them and I jumped at the chance.  They have some adorable images that I've greatly enjoyed playing with.  Here's one I worked up and have posted on their blog...

See what I mean?  This little cutie is called Bethany Bunny's Flower.  There are more of these digital sweeties in the store along with other fun images.  I hope you'll 'hop' over and take a look.  It's quite fun to browse through their store.

It was quite fun to work with these great springy papers.  I'm sooooo ready for spring!!!  But I know we're not out of winter yet and am afraid we still have rough winter days ahead.  But I've been very, very grateful for this past week.  It's been wonderful all week, especially Friday and Saturday when it was mid to high 60s.  LOVE it!!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #22

Good morning friends and neighbors!  It's Thursday!!  Oddly, I really like Thursdays as I know the weekend is now within reach and I can make it until it's here.  hahaha!  But... let's get down to business.  It's time for another Aud Sentiments Challenge.  This challenge is to use a trendy saying I'm not sure how 'trendy' mine is, but it fits this image perfectly!

Luckily for all of us, our sponsor for this challenge is Kenny K's.  They create such great, fun images and generously offered the DT an image of their choice.  FUN!!  I chose the ever cool Groove Dude.  He's just jammin' and 'having fun', isn't he??  The random winner will receive a great prize so come on and join in.

Did you ever color something and immediately think... mistake!  That's how it was with this dude's guitar!  A green guitar was just not a good idea!  But I couldn't print off another image at the time so I had to go with it!  Just let me say... sorry 'bout that guitar folks!  haha!  Also, I wanted to ask if you all ever get 'grainy' results from your copics?  It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's not pretty.  It happened on this dude's skin.  I'd appreciate any suggestions you could share with me.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #98

Edit:  Won top 3 honors at Aly's Sunday Challenge #ACS35

Happy Sunday stampers!  Welcome to another round of Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  This week our inspiration is one of the lovliest cupcakes I've seen for some time (and I like them all).  So... let's get on with it shall we!  Here's my card...

And... for the inspiration...

Well... what do you think??  Gulp... fabulous, right???  Love these colors!!  They are just so pleasing to my eye.

I do want to let you know that we have a couple new Sweeties starting with us today.  They are Chris, Veronica and our Guest Designer this week which is Melissa Bove.  I urge you to wander over and take a look at their blogs and leave them a little love.  And don't forget our regular Sweeties too!

How do you like that fabulous flourish??  Our sponsor this week is Flourish with a Bling.  They generously provided the DT (before our new Sweeties came aboard) with a couple of their wonderful products.  Isn't this one yummy??  I love that its puffiness gives added dimension.

I do hope the flourish looks OK.  I'm not very good at working with them, stamped or otherwise.  You can't image how many angles and positions I tried before opting for this version!!  hahaha!  Another item I need to add to my 'need to learn' list.

Other challenges:
Friday Sketchers - the SKETCH (at least my starting point)
Flutter by Wednesday - anything goes (with a butterfly, fairy or angel)
Ooh La La - for someone special
I Did it Creations - bling it up
