A Stamp Something Sketch

Hello my stamping buddies!!!  Don'tcha LOVE a good sketch challenge?  Well... Stamp Something has one for you this week designed by our very own Denise (the other one)!  Yee-haw!!

How's that for great???  It was tons of fun to work with!  And just perfect for so many of our images.  Here's what I ended up with...

Now... if that's not enough fun, our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp!!!  How great is that?  They are kindly offering a $20 gift certificate to the lucky random winner in this week's draw.  I'd love to win that!!  : )

I used a stamp set from Whimsie Doodles called "How Sweet".  It's a great set with many possibilities!   All other items I've used, like BasicGrey papers and buttons, can be purchased at Simon Says Stamp!

I hope you'll go take a look at all the DT ladies creations and leave them a little bit of love.  They do a wonderful job and are soooo fun to work with!

That's it for today.  Have a great weekend and we'll see you again next Friday for another Stamp Something challenge.  Thanks for stopping by!

Charmed, I'm sure

Second post... if you're looking for my Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge, please scroll down or click here.  Thank you!

Hello again my friends.  It's now time to bring you the latest and greatest challenge from Stamp Something.  This week it's Charmed Somethings.  I was so glad to see this challenge as I love charms but for some reason always forget to use them!!  This gave me the perfect reason to remember!!

Our sponsor for this week's challenge is the ever popular Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  Bunny Zoe's is a great place to shop for your stamping needs including a wonderful selection of charms.  Lots of great stamps... including the aDORable image I have used for my card this week.  It's called "Soaking up the Joy" and if you love her as much as I do, you can purchase her here

Now... mine is actually a digi image which was the very first Mo Manning purchase I ever made.  I've been waiting for the perfect time to color her up and this was it.  I made it for my granddaughter, Madeline, who is in the hospital right now.  I wanted to give her a little pick-me-up and I believe this did the job.  She's one of my biggest stamping supporters and a pretty good little artist herself so does appreciate the efforts involved.  Perhaps I could ask you to say a quick little prayer for Madeline.  We'd both appreciate it!!!

I chose this cute little black flower charm to use with this wonderful BasicGrey paper.  Besides, one can't have enough flowers, can one???  : )  I also glittered up her tutu, the centers of the flowers and part of the butterfly.  The sentiment is from a set from Autumn Leaves' STamPoLoGY line called "Talking Circles Girl".  This stamp is really much larger than I needed, so I used just the inner circle.  I thought that was just right.

Challenges:
Papertake Weekly - the sketch
KL Stampin N Scrappin - bling it on
Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - flowers
Pile it On - spring
ABC Challenge - sparkle
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp! - things with wings

Stamps:  Mo's Digital Pencil (digi image, but Bunny Zoe's sells the stamp), Autumn Leaves Talking Circles Girls (sentiment)
Paper:  BG kioshi, PTI (image)
Supplies:  Nesties, flower punch, pearls, white glitter, charm, black lace ribbon
Techniques:  Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.

It's a Fussy & Fancy Friday

Hello all you Friday lovers!  Welcome to our bi-weekly challenge at Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge.  This week our challenge is to make something for a BIRTHDAY.  Who doesn't need more of those???  I'm sooo behind on my birthday cards that I was tickled when I saw what this week's challenge was!!  : )

Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs.  Please go check out their on-line store.  I'm sure you'll come away with some new images!  : )  They kindly shared some with the DT.  I chose this great image from their Sweet Treats line.  She's called "Sweet Cupcake Carli".  She does look sassy, doesn't she?  That dress is so flirty!

Another Swinger!

Hello again my stamping friends!  The weekend is nearly over now... UGH... but I've had a good one for the most part.  And... I'm going to enjoy the remainder of it.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post of 'Swing Leah', I'm posting another Whimsie Doodles cute new digital image from their April release.  This one is called "Swing Koale".  Isn't he just great in his simplicity?  I just love his bare feet and little kid toes.  {smile}

Koale's swing is hanging from a branch which actually comes from another Whimsie Doodles digital image.  I took the "Owl My Heart" image and erased the owl and moon.  After printing out, I reconnected the lines that were erased while removing the owl.  This is one of the most wonderful things about digital images.  Easy peasy (even though I'm not good at drawing a straight line!).

I went with my own simple layout as I didn't think Koale needed much going on beside just him and and his swing.  I cut out both the main image and the branch so the cloud DP would be the background for Koale.

I guess that's it for today.  Enjoy your final few hours of the weekend.  Thanks for coming by!  Hope to see you again soon.

Swinging with Leah

Hello friends!  How are you?  For me, yesterday turned out to be a terrible day.  But today, quite the opposite.  Nothing special, just quieter and more peaceful!!  I LOVE peaceful!!!  : )

Today I'm sharing one of the wonderful Whimsie Doodles digital images from their April release.  This one is called "Swing Leah" and I've been wanting to play with her since I first saw her.  What FUN!!!

There's also a companion image which is called "Swing Koale" which is the little boy swinging on a tire.  I'm going to try to work him up either tonight or tomorrow sometime.  It goes without saying that I'm in love with him too!!!

Now, except for Leah's hair (ewwwww!), I'm pretty happy with this card.  I  finally got the remaining twelve prismacolor pencils that I've been missing forEVER and one of them was kelly green.  It's just perfect for this Cosmo Cricket earth love paper.  It makes me soooo happy!!!  : )  I know... I'M LAME!!!!  hahahahaha!  Oh, and the limb her swing is attached to is actually the limb from the Valentine digi "Owl My Heart".  I pulled it into Paint, erased the owl and moon, then redrew the lines that were missing.  I'm not great at drawing a semi-straight line so puh-lez... don't look too closely.  : )

For the layout, I've used the sketch from Jen Del Muro's SFYTT which I haven't done for ages!!  Jen has a new sketch every Saturday and they are always great!!  Thanks Jen!

Have a great evening and I'll see you tomorrow... probably!  Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Friday Fun is here again!!

Good morning stampers!  All ready for the weekend???  It's almost here!!  What is here is the latest and greatest challenge at Stamp Something.  This week our theme is 'Layered Something'.  Well... we ALL do that so I hope everyone will have a chance to join in.  Here's what I came up with...

That great image is from Karen's Doodles who just happens to be our sponsor this week.  How great is that!?!?!?!  Karen very generously provided the DT an image of our choice.  I chose this little princess as I couldn't not get her, ya know?  I think many of you are already familiar with Karen's great images but if not, please take a pleasure trip to her shop blog and have a fun time.  By the way... she's having a sale right now.  Buy 3 get 1 FREE (equal value or less)... ends TODAY!  Believe me, I'll be heading over there some time today to take advantage of this!!

I had great fun coloring up this image as I've never worked with a horse before.  I didn't know how that would go, but I learned something.  They color up just like a person but using different colors.  That totally worked for me.  Now... that may not be true for coloring 'real' horse images.  One probably needs some extra talent for that.  But it works for the cutsie ones!!

That's all I have for today my stamping friends.  I so hope you enjoy your Friday and on into your weekend.  Have a great one and please, go layer something!  : )

Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge

Good morning all!  Welcome to Friday {that always makes me smile!!}.  I don't know about YOUR week, but mine has been crazy!!  So crazy that I wasn't able to complete both my DT Friday commitments.  Unfortunately, I don't have a Stamp Something challenge (Stitch Somethings) card to share this week, but please go check out the other fab DT cards.  They're just wonderful!

Now on to the challenge I was able to complete.  This week, the Fussy & Fancy challenge is a sketch!  If you're like me you LOVE sketch challenges and this is a great one created by our very own Mindy.

And here's my sample...

I just had a ton of fun working up this challenge.  Our sponsor for this week is InStyle Stamps.  If you're not familiar with them, they have lots of fun, whimsical and some retro stamps.  They were kind enough to share a couple images with some of the DT and I chose to use Ariel.  Isn't she great!  I'd mentioned to our DT coordinator that I wasn't really a mermaid kind of gal, but I opted for her anyway.  She totally changed my mind!  She was great fun to work with and now I am a mermaid kind of gal!!

I hope you'll get to go check out all the other DT ladies' blogs as they all made some wonderful cards.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a wonderful Friday as I know I will!!  Take care my friends!!

HAPPY EASTER my Friends

Happy Easter!  Just wanted to post a short little message for today's holiday.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

I created this card using a couple of  Whimsie Doodles stamps.  The main image is called 'Koale's chicks' and the sentiment is 'My Peeps'.  Aren't they just great for a little boy??  When I went to the WD store to verify I was using the correct names, I noticed my Koale was colored almost exactly like their image!!!  {SIGH}  But mine has brown boots!!!  hahaha

This card turned out nothing like I'd planned!!  Funny how that works.  It's wayyyyy different, but it's growing on me!  : )

Challenges:
Tuesday Morning Sketches - the sketch

Thanks for stopping by today.  Truly... have a wonderful day whether it's used to celebrate Easter or doing something else you enjoy.  Until later...

Let's Bring Back the Easter Bonnet

Hi all.  Welcome to the weekend!  Are you having a great one???

Just as soon as I saw this little lady on Sassy Cheryl's Designs, I thought "now that's an Easter bonnet"!!  And I thought she just must have "carrot top" hair.  So I've worked her into an Easter card for my granddaughter, Madeline.  What a fun, fun image to play with!

I am rather sorry I used blue on the big bow, but I guess it's not so bad!  {shrug}  Isn't this DP the greatest???  I know... I think I say that for every card I make, don't I?  hahaha.   Well... I do like them all!  But, this is really kewl!  It gives you so many color choices and I tried to get them all in there!  haha.

I punched out the flowers with the 'old-fashioned' punches!  This card was just beggin' for more flowers!!!  teehee.  Then I stickled up the colored petals along with the butterfly/bow on her hat.  Added some pearls, distressed the paper edges and it's ready for Madeline.  I really like her.  She just makes me smile.

Challenges:
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge - the sketch
Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge - distressing
The Corrosive Challenge - Easter or spring

Another Friday... Another Fun Stamp Something Challenge

Hello stampers!  It's another FUN Friday so let's kick it off right with a new challenge from Stamp Something.  This week the challenge is Pink Somethings.  YAY... one of my favorite colors and it's our theme this week!!  It couldn't get any better, could it?

OK... it DID get better as our sponsor this week is The Stamping Boutique.  They very generously provided a digital image of choice to each DT member.  I chose 'Hidden' from their "Enchantment" line.  Isn't she lovely?  I created this card while my granddaughter was at school.  When she got home,  I showed it to her and told her she is that fairy.  She must have puffed up about three sizes!!!  : )  Actually it does look like an older version of her.

I chose to color these flowers up as bleeding hearts although I'm not sure what they really are.  Then I glittered up her wings, all the 'twinkling' areas and spot glittered on the blossoms.  I added the flowers, popped the image up on 3D dots and voila... it's done.

Other challenges:
The Sweet Stop - the sketch
Totally Paper Crafts - let's go digital

That's it for this post.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I always appreciate your taking the time to pop into my little piece of the stamping world.  See you again soon.
