Aud Sentiments Challenge #31

Edit:  Won card of the week honor at Word Play Weekend #6

Happy Thursday friends.  What's Thursday mean?  First of all, it means the weekend is almost here!!  YAY!!  But even more importantly, it means it's time for a new Aud Sentiments challenge.  Another YAY!  This week our challenge is to use a Sentiment about Food/Drink.  We all like food and drink challenges don't we?  hahaha!  Here's my stab at the challenge...

Look... a pie man!!  "How Sweet"!!!  This image was soooo fun to color.  The sketch is from CardPatterns and the first time I saw it I said this is it.  It almost looks like we're looking in a little cafe window and watching the pie man wheel his pies around.  I think that turned out pretty great.  Thank you CardPatterns.  I used a couple of dark (and I mean dark) brown buttons, then added some metal brads for something a little different.  Talk about different... I thought I'd chosen all antique brass brads, but getting out in better light, I think I have 1 antique brass, 1 gold and 1 silver.  Yikes!!  Oh well... I think it almost works.  Antique brass for the brown, gold for the olive green and silver for the blue!?!  OK... maybe not, but I'm tryin'!!

Our sponsor for this challenge is once again the great Robyn's Fetish.  They have some wonderful stamping needs including great images.  Take, for example, pie man.  The lucky random winner will receive ????.  Great, right?

Other challenges:
CardPatterns - the SKETCH
Crafts 4 Eternity - embellies starting with "R" - ribbon
Crazy 4 Challenges - add twine, floss, string...
Word Play Weedend - blue
Just Some Lines - spotty dotty
Simon Says Stamp and Show - show some metal
Totally Stampalicious - something old (metal brads), something new (Prima papers)
Kaboodle Doodles - food and/or dring
Stamps R Us - 1 image, 2 DPs, 3 embellies
Everybody-Art-Challenge - anything goes

Thanks for stopping in today folks!  Come join in the fun with us and create something for food/drink.  Have a great day!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #116

Good Sunday morning my friends.  I hope your day started bright and shiny and continues that way.  Another Sunday?  FABulous... that means another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  WooHOO!  I think you're gonna love this week's cuppies.  But I say that every week, don't I?  : )  Let's get started, 'K?  Here's how this week's cupcakes inspired me...

Isn't this a fun card?  It sure was fun to make!!  I think this is the first time I've gotten to try paper piecing with digis.  I've been printing the images at work (using my own papers).  It's later when I think it sure would be nice to paper piece this or that.  But after all the resizing, I'm not confident about going back getting the same size.  So this time I printed them at the same time.  Really works swift when you use your brain!!!  Now... let's look at our inspiration for this challenge...

I just think these are wonderful!  Soooo summery with their leaves, ladybugs, daisies and mushrooms.  And I love the colors.  Wouldn't you like to try your hand at these babies??  Come on... I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Our sponsor this week is Amber Ink.  One lucky winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to their store!  WoW!!  They provided the DT with some images to use and I just loved this Mushroom Border image.  And that Love Bug sentiment is just darling too.    As you can see, I've added plenty of little ladybugs to my card.  Probably too many, but I just love those little things.  The daisy ended up having to go there.  I tried my hand at just adding some little dot daisies with my Signo white pen and lemon yellow liquid pearls for the center.  Well... as you can guess, I didn't like it.  So I took them off... or tried to.  the centers scraped off easy enough and normall I can remove the white inks with a wet tissue.  But, this doesn't work as well when you're doing it on the chalk inks!  I tried a few things to 'fix' it, but it just got worse!  So, as I said, the daisy had to go there!  : )

Teddy Bo Challenge is Shaped Cards

Hello again all!  Second post for today so if you're looking for the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge you can scroll down to the previous post or click here.

I created this card for the Teddy Bo Challenge this this time was 'shaped cards'.  Now... I've never made a shaped card.  I've wanted to for ages, but just didn't take the leap.  I really don't have any of the right tools to easily make a shaped card so I kept putting it off.  Well... the Teddy Bo Challenge made me do it as entries for the DT call had to complete the challenge.  UGH!!  So... introducing my very first shaped card...

Now... let me tell you what, this was quite a struggle!!!  It's sadly taken me all day to finish this card!!  I cut out my circle card, then tried this, then tried that to get the other layers to look right!!  My nestie circles were too small to make it look right, so I tried a doily.  It was too small too so I tried two doilies... then three.  That's where I stopped.  So I did a bunch of sponging on the doilies and the nestie circle, added some ribbon, roses and pearls and called it good.  I know it's not the best shaped card ever, but maybe not too bad for a first try??

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #114

Happy Sunday stampers!  I hope you're doing well.  I have been soooo tired today that I've been sleeping quite a bit!  What a waste of a Sunday, huh!  Sunday means another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  I hope you'll find some inspiration from our cupcakes this week and join in with us.  Here's how the photo inspired me...

And our inspiration photo this week...

Aren't those cupcakes beautiful!!  Just one thing... what's that airplane doing in there??  {shrugging shoulders}  Anyway... as you can see, I went more with the blue than the lavender.  I just couldn't find any purply papers that would work for these cupcakes.  Hmphf!

A shabby chic Teddy Bo

Edit:  Won top honor at Do it with Digis #11

Hello folks!  I hope you all enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend.  Mine was quiet and peaceful.  But today is Tuesday and it's back to work.  It has been hard to get back into it.  I guess I need a few more days off!!  haha!

I found this Teddy Bo image in my 'printed  off' stash and decided to do something with it.  This is one of the first Teddy Bo images I'd purchased.  He was great fun to color up.  I colored the hearts up in more of a pink, so used a couple pink embellies to.  I'm afraid Teddo Bo's been pinked!!  : )

This card would have worked perfectly for the last Teddy Bo Challenge which was to use Teddy Bo only.  But... I didn't get him done in time.  And I made the card before the new challenge which came out yesterday which is make a shaped card, so he won't work for that either.  Oh well... I'll keep trying!

I'm going to keep this short today.  OK... OK... keep the cheering down!  haha!!  I'll see if I can get a shaped card done for the current Teddy Bo Challenge!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #113

Edit:  Won 2nd place at Catch the Bug Challenge

Good morning stamping friends.  It's Sunday again and do you know the great thing about this Sunday??  Many of us don't have to dread going to work tomorrow because it's a holiday!!!  Yes, it's Memorial Day and I wanted to take a moment to honor all those who have sacrificed everything for our country.  What brave souls and so very patriotic.  Bless all that have loved ones they are thinking about today.

Another great thing about this Sunday... it's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!  Yepper... let's have some fun.  Here's my card created from our cupcake inspiration photo...

Heeheehee!  Doesn't she just make you giggle?  At least smile!!  This is a digital image from our sponsor, Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  It's called Molly Moo - sunflower.  I think I've fallen in love with Molly!  Now for our cupcakes photo that will provide your inspiration this week ...

Aren't these great??  So many flowers... such bright colors... a coupla little bugs.  Fun!!  I hope you'll find some inspiration and come play with us.  It was great fun coloring Molly up in these bright summery colors!  I decided to keep the colors restricted to my image and the matting cardstock.  For my DP, I embossed some white cardstock with a flowery folder as I thought that design fit perfectly.

Then I decided to add some sun to this sunflower image.  The little sun I used is from one of those little $1 clear stamp sets.  I don't use those a lot, but they sure come in handy for the right projects!  BTW... I'd meant to add a bubble cap over the sun's face, but I forgot.  Well... I forgot before I took the pics, but it has a bubbled face now.  The bubble cap just fit absolutely perfectly!!  I didn't want to rework the photos I'd already taken, but I did take one extra photo...

Back to our sponsor, Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  They are awarding 7 (yes I said 7) images of the winner's choice.  That's totally worth joining us this week, isn't it?  And a little more of a plug for them... they are having 50% off everything in the store through May 31st.  That makes an image like Molly Moo - sunflower yours for a mere buck and a half!!  Go... go have fun and get you some bugaboos.

Sweet, Sweet Sophie

Edit:  Won top 3 honors at Addicted to Stamps Challenge #4

Hello my friends! Hey... it's Friday!  We've made it!!  haha!.  I wanted to post a quick little something new I worked up a few days ago.  I've wanted to play with Sophie for ages now.  I printed her out a looooong  time ago and she's just been waiting for me.

Isn't Sophie sweet??? She's another of Mo's Digital Pencil's adorable kid images.  I've got several more printed off and ready to make into a card so I just need to get with it!  : )  The DP I've used is another of those beautiful Prima papers from the Sparkling Spring Collection called "Rosebud".  I have just fallen in love with all these Prima papers and have been looking to buy some more.  But I can't find any of the ones I want!!!  ACK!!  They are always out of stock.  I asked the Archivers gals the last time I was there if they carried Prima papers.  She said they had but were having a very hard time getting their order from Prima.  Let me just say... "Prima... come on!!!  Send out those orders!!".  haha!

I'm going to take it easy the rest of the evening (after I take my dog out to play).  I didn't get much sleep last night and have been sooooo tired today, especially this afternoon.  Around 3-4, I just couldn't hardly stay awake at work!!  Of course, now that I'm home, I'm wide awake!!  haha!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #29

Good Thursday morning stamping phenoms.  Look how close we are to the weekend!  WooHOO!!!  Today is time for another fun challenge at Aud Sentiments Challenge.  The sentiment challenge this fortnight is "A sentiment/card for a male".  We all need more of those cards, don't we.  Here's my take on that theme...

This crazy fun image is Napoleon from our sponsor this week, Digis with Attitude.  That 'grouchy' lion's stare is frightening, right?  OK... not frightening, but fun!  Digis with Attitude have many more of what I call 'grumpies' plus sentiments to go with them.  Why don't you take a few minutes and go see them all?

Amazingly this card came together for me rather quickly.  Of course, no problem figuring out what color the lion should be... light brown, medium, brown, dark brown.  haha!  And since he is so monochromatic, I wanted a bit more color and design in my papers and MME fine and dandy true blue worked perfectly for me.

If you want a good giggle, please bop over to all the DT's blogs as they have created some equally fun and grumpy cards.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #112 and DT Call

Edit:  OMGoodness, I forgot to include the information about the DT call we're having.  The call will be open until June 1st and the new sweeties will be chosen and notified by June 7th.  For all the details, please head over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog.  Good LUCK!!

Happy Monday my friends!  How's that for an oxymoron!!  I hope you had a happy weekend.  I did... mostly!  Didn't feel well Saturday evening, but it was short-lived so no worries.  Yay!!  Today I'm going to share my Cupcake Inspirations Challenge card for this week.  As always, the cupcake photo is just fabulous and it was fun deciding what to create.  Here's what I came up with...

Wonderful image, right?  Of course, it's a Lili of the Valley stamp called Rosie Posie.  Cute, eh?  As I've said many times before, I just love LOTV stamps.  They are all so precious!  OK... now the challenge photo...

Do you love hydrangeas?  If you do, I'm sure you love this photo and the challenge!   And great colors, right?  Pulled the pastel artist right on out of me.  Fun!

I know the layout and embellies are pretty boring.  I don't know what my problem was when finishing off this card.  I looked for a SKETCH to follow but didn't find one I really wanted to go with, so I just went simple (boring).  And then... after I'd stickled up the flowers and dots on the wrapping, I went and smudged it so there is stickles in all kinds of odd places on this card!  : )  Whoops!!  It seems like I'm always doing something!!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #28 -- late, late, late!

Hi again friends.  This is my second post for today so if you're looking for my Cupcake Inspirations Challenge post, please scroll down, or click here.

I'm afraid this post for Aud Sentiments is a tad late, but I've finally gotten caught up and hope to stay that way for a while!!  Ahhhhh... what a good feeling!!  Now on to the challenge!  This fortnight's challenge is No Sentiment.  Isn't that funny for a 'sentiment' challenge blog?  I thought it was a fun idea and give an 'atta girl' to whoever thought it up.

To be honest, I love this card!!  I adore that image from A Day for Daisies and guess what.  It's a freebie!!  Better get over there quick and get this one before they get smart and realize what they're giving away!!!  : )  I also love these papers (more about them soon).  Everything just came together so nicely.  That almost never happens for me!  haha!

I don't say this near often enough, but I always hope you'll go see the other DT members blogs as we have a great team and they always have amazing projects to share with you.  It's worth your time to visit.

Our sponsor for this challenge is The Digichick.  I must admit, I wasn't familiar with this sponsor before this challenge, but believe me, I have them bookmarked now!!  They have some great items in their store.  They kindly let each DT member select an item to use for this challenge.  It was soooo fun looking through everything.  I ended up choosing this set called "Playful Sunshine Scrapbook Kit".  Just look at that list of items that comes with this kit!  For my card, I chose to use Floral Ivory (the main background DP), Gingham and Polka Dot Red.  It was hard to narrow it down to these three as I love them all, but I'm very happy with these three.

To me, this screams of vintage.  I know I don't have any rough or dinghy edges, but it seems so to me.  The image looks vintage as do the DPs.  What do you think?
