It's Bellarific Friday

Good morning all!  It's Friday {grin... grin... grin... grin}.  Not only is the start of the weekend just a few short hours away, but it's also Bellarific Friday.  YIPEE!!!  What else can make Friday's more fun?  For all those folks who are huge Stamping Bella fans, Friday is TONS of fun!  If you have the time, go check out her blog to see all the wonderful creations entered in this challenge.  FUN!!

This is Little Emmy.  She's in a bit of disarray, but sooooo cute!  She is lots of fun to color up.  And I'm just a-lovin' these Basic Grey June Bug papers.  They just seemed to 'go' with this little girl.

This great layout came from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  Thanks so much for the inspiration ladies!!  This card also works for the Papertake Weekly Challenge.  Their challenge this week is "Spots 'n Stripes"... use either or both.  : )  Finally, this fits Crazy 4 Challenges who wants us to create a card using at least three different geometric shapes.  I have an oval, rectangles and a circle (button).

Thanks to all of you for stopping by today.  Have a grrrrrrrrreat Friday.  See ya soon.

Denise

What did I learn today?  On Fridays, I use the word 'FUN' a LOT!!  Isn't that FUNny?!?!?!  {grin}

A Break from Cleaning

OK... I lied.  I do have a little time for stamping today!!  Well... not really stamping.  I colored this up a few weeks ago for a Bellarific Friday, but I never got it completed for that challenge... so I finished it up today.  I'm thinking it's a little busy, but that's OK I guess.  I just love these little 'monstahs'!  That hairy guy just cracks me up!!  I finally used my MS edge punch that looks like dripping goo.  I'd forgotten I bought it!  I'm so glad I remembered before halloween was over!!

The only thing to explain about this card is the black matting paper.  I didn't have enough black cs to use on this card, but black is what I wanted.  So I cut out white cs and used my 100 black copic to blacken the the part that would be exposed.  It works perfectly.  Just don't forget the edges... you don't want them to stay white.  On the boo chipboard letters, I also used my 100 black copic.  But, they looked so danged plain that I just had to stickle them up.  Does anyone have suggestions on making CB look less drab without stickling?

Tons of challenges for this card.  Here's the list:

1.  Stamp Something - Halloween
2.  Stampin' for the Weekend - Fangtastic Halloween cards
3.  The Corrosive Challenge - Spooky Times
4.  Cupcake Inspiration Challenge - Witchie Cakes
5.  Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - SPOOKtacular!
6.  My Time to Craft Challenge - Halloween Colors
7.  Everybody-Art-Challenge - Halloween
8.  Creative Inspirations - Halloween
9.  Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge - Shades of Autumn (I think this works even though it's a halloween card!)
10.  Last but certainly not least... Friday Sketchers - great sketch

Whew... that wore me out!!  : )  Have a great weekend folks... I'm back to my cleaning...

Happy Holiday Wishes

Wanted to get this little puppy posted before I get hot and heavy into cleaning my house (what fun!!).  I'm entering this card into the .  I've never entered this before so think it's high time I did.  This is my second entry for this contest.  The other is 'Ready to Go Santa' from last night's post.  WSD have such great images.  Aren't they just so fun to use???  LOVE 'em!

The layout for this was a challenge, but I worked it up so long ago, I can't remember whose it was!!  So sorry I can't give the credit where it's due.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I put some rhinestones on the buttons for something a little different.

Well... there won't be any more stamping for me this weekend.  I mentioned the cleaning earlier (ugh!).  In addition, there will be cooking, going to a birthday party, watching college football (my team), enjoying my son's visit starting tomorrow.  And then we're back to the work week.  Boy, these weekends just fly by!!  Have a great one and come see me again, 'K?

Ready to go Santa

Hi all.  It's late and I'm tired, but I wanted to get this posted tonight and entered into some challenges.  I have a lot to do this weekend as my son and his girlfriend are coming Sunday so I'll be cleaning house tomorrow instead of stamping.  : (  But I love to see my son, so stamping will just have to wait.

The Challenges:

1. Whipper Snapper Designs Paper Crafting Contest.  Their theme: "images from their 2009 winter collection".
2.  Copic Creations - "coloring black with copics".
3.  Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge - use buttons... any size, shape, color, number... just use 'em.
4.  BasicGrey Challenges - a color challenge... green, red and blue.  You can use more than that, but must use those.

Not much to explain on this one.  I'm not very fast when it comes to the coloring so you can image how long this one took me!!  The two gift boxes are paper pieced as is the bow on the one by the stick horse.  I had them colored up, but just didn't think they worked.  As you know, in stamping, there's always another option, thus the paper piecing!  I hand-wrote the sentiment (took several tries!).  It's not perfect, but it's 'home made'.

That's it for tonight.  Thanks for stopping in and hope you enjoy your visit!

Be Merry

Good Monday morning!  Is there such a thing??  Thought I'd post this card before I headed off to work.

This is a Sugar Nellie stamp named Miss Clause.  Dontcha just love her??  I made her for The Sugar Bowl Challenge which is a great sketch this time.  On all her 'fluffy' parts, I used polar white flower soft.  This is my first stab at using this product and what a blast!  All her trims are really fuzzy!  I also took some white snowflake brads and glittered them up for a little more pizazz.  They look really good IRL.  And finally, I used the snowflake embossing folder on the base paper, then rubbed VersaMagic sea breeze over the raised parts.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day and I'll see ya soon!

Miss Bittybloom

Hi stamping fans!  Hope you've all had a great weekend.  Mine was just pretty darn good.  It was a little chilly yesterday, but today was just wonderful!!  And I did almost nothing useful!  I guess we have to do that sometimes, right??

I'm finally getting this card posted at the very end of the weekend!  It was sooooo fun to make.  I bought this Hydrangea Bittybloom a while back and am finally getting her inked and colored up.  Isn't she just a sweetie?  The whole bittybloom line are all so petite and dainty.  Really fun to work into a card.  The main image may be a little plain.  Maybe when I add a sentiment, that will help.  You can't really tell from the photo, but each little petal has a drop of diamond stickles right in the center.  IRL it looks great!

Bloggabella has a new challenge where Emily wants us to go natural.  "Anything with nature - flowers".  Come on and join in.  It's always fun to stamp with Bellas and you could win some Bella bucks!!

The layout for this card came from Simon Says Stamp Challenge. It's a really nice and simple sketch, but those can be made into beautiful cards.  Just look at what the DT came up with!!

I'd better go wind down as a new work week starts tomorrow.  Hope you have a good... nay... a great week!
Thanks for coming by,
Denise

Happy Birthday Stitch

Hello eveyone.  Hope your day was a good one.  Mine was just horrible.  I only got about two hours of sleep last night so you can imagine I was pretty much a zombie.  I was miserable.  I thought my work day would never end!  Funny how I'm feeling much better now that I've been home awhile!  hahahaha

I made this card last night during the hours I couldn't sleep, then finished it up tonight when I got home.  It's for my really great friend, Kathy.  She has soooo many talents, but one of her most prominent is sewing.  She is a master!!  When I saw this Sugar Nellie stamp named Stitch (Leanne Ellis), I just had to get her and make Kathy a card.  Even her hair reminded me of Kathy!  : )

Do ya like that 'pile' of buttons I tried to create?  Kinda goofy, huh?  Well... it's something a little different.  But hey... wouldn't a top notch sewer have a bunch of buttons lying around?

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge for my layout.  I wanted the image to be the main focus, so this sketch worked out perfectly.  Thanks so much Mojo gals!!!  I'll also enter this into Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge.  This is her first ever and it's fun to be part of it.  Her challenge is to 'think Birthday'.  She is kindly allowing those of us who haven't yet gotten any of her wonderful new stamps to enter anyway.  I'm really hoping I'll win one!!  The One Stop Craft Challenge also has a 'Happy Birthday' theme so this is a two birds... one stone kind of thing.  : )

And thank you for visiting.  I really does mean so much that you come and take a look around.  That's pretty much why we're all doing this, right?  Have a great evening!  I'm going to bed... soon.

WOJ Snowman

Ever since I first saw them, I've been in love with the WOJ snowmen.  I finally got a couple of them about a month ago and tonight I've inked up Herb with Bird for the WOJ Anniversary Challenge.  Their challenge blog has been up and going for an entire year now.  Congrats WOJ blog folks!!  One lucky winner will be awarded the Grand Prize.  That sounds good, huh?

They provided a wonderful sketch and I decided to go with traditional Christmas colors for old Herb.  I had tons of fun coloring him up, but don't look too close... there's a couple smudges I should have cleaned up before I took the picture!!  Sorry Herb... but he still looks pretty happy.

I used silver stickles on Herb's snow swirls.  As you can probably tell, I started with the top ones as the bottom ones look a bit better!  But overall... I like it.

Thanks so much for coming by.  BTW... I am just soooo grateful for those who leave me comments.  They just make my day and I appreciate your taking the time to do so.  : )

MFT Feel Better

Happy Sunday all.  Hope you're having a good one.

Today I decided to work up a card for the Stamp Something Challenge.  This one is to use the color brown... and add whatever other color to it, but definitely brown.  I love browns and decided to go with some blue to compliment it.  I then chose this fun MFT Bunny Slippers set.  I've had this for awhile but haven't used it so decided it was about time!!  BTW... the prize for this challenge is from iCopic!!  They are awarding the winner a set of 12 pastel ciao markers!  Better get in on this one.

For the layout, I went with the sketch from the Our Creative Corner gals.  They always have wonderful challenges and I love to join in.  Thanks so much for all the inspiration ladies!!

Seemed like I did hours of cutting on this one, but I guess it wasn't all that much.  Just the smaller pieces are misery for me!  hahahaha.  But I do like the end result.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Winter Magnolia

Hi there Magnolia fans!  I've got this little cutie to share with you today.  I saw this image in several SCS galleries and knew I just had to have her.  I made her for the Just Magnolia Challenge which had the greatest sketch this week.

I was also going to use it for the Magnolia-licious Challenge, but I forgot to make her up into an easel card which was the requirement.  Duh!!!

But, she does also fit the Copic Colour Challenge.  The copic colors for this challenge are:  YG95, R39 and C4.  I was able to get 'em all in there.

Last but certainly not least, this card fits the Creatalicious Challenge which is to make a creation using the color combo pink or plum with burgundy and green.  Bingo.  We are to also add some lace, ribbon or fiber.  I'm counting the stitched brad and maybe the pompoms as my fiber item.  Fun!!

I dusted the white flower with a little SU pretty in pink, then stickled it up and used that fabulous brad for its center.  I am just lovin' these brads!!  They are BG Eskimo Kisses stitched brads.  They look upholstered and are just lovely!  I also took some tassely 'ribbon', cut a couple of the pompoms off and attached them to the ends of her hat.  They look a little off-color in this photo, but IRL, they match perfectly and they add a little extra something!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope to see you again soon.

YAY!! Something new!!

I've been so busy working on my new blog and trying to learn more about making it better and more appealing that I haven't done any stamping!! Oh my!!! Well... that changed today. I made a couple of cards and they fit tons of challenges so please bear with me.

I'll start with my card for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge.  Mercy does a wonderful job with her sketches. I just love to work 'em up.  The main image is from Inkadinkado and is called Birds Galore.  This is actually a set I won for a give-a-way by Chris at Catt's Scratching Post.  What a blast it is to WIN something!!!  Actually I won two separate items within a few days of each other.  FUN!!  Now, it'll probably be years before I win anything again!  LOL

This card also fits the Our Creative Corner Challenge.  They challenged us to find inspiration in one or both of the journals by Monique Duval listed on their blog.  I loved the colors so they are both incorporated into my card.  And finally... I'll enter it into the Stampin' for the Weekend challenge.  They are just starting back up with new challenges and I say a big 'welcome back'!  This week they're using a color challenge... orange, brown and leafy green.  I hit 'em all!

This next card fits several challenges.  Let's see if I can get them all in...

1.  Bronte and Bella's Challenge - use 'perple' as it's Bella and Bronte's favorite.  Of course, we have to use a Mo Manning image as well.  I've opted for 'the big one' this time.  This little fella reminds me sooo much of my grandson Nash.

2.  Next is the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge which is such a fun challenge.  This week they have cupcakes in black cups with purple frosting, navy stars and pumpkin candies on top.  Soooo cute!

3.  The Pink Elephant (TPE) is also one I really enjoy working on.  This week it's a color challenge... black, orange, purple and white.

4.  A Spoonful of Sugar - Halloween.  If it's pumpkiny, it's halloween, right?

5.  Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Halloween again.  They have some great DT sample projects!!

6.  Friday Sketchers - where my layout came from.  They always have great sketches too!

That's it for tonight.  As I progress and get more used to blogging, I'll provide more information about supplies used, etc.

Thanks for coming by.

My First Post!!

WELCOME!!!  Thank you for visiting my very first post!

I have FINALLY gotten around to creating my own blog!!!  I've had such huge blog envy for many months now.  And, truthfully... I still do.  There are some visually wonderful blogs out there.  Right now, mine is not.  But... one day... I'm optimistic!!

To start off, I'd like to share a few of my fave cards from my SCS gallery:

This first card I made for my best friend, Gaylene's birthday.  She is very important to me so I spent a long time on this one.  She is always very appreciative of my efforts so it's worth it to put extra time into cards for her.

Stamp:  PTI In Bloom
Paper:  Basic Grey - Indian Summer (6x6 pad)
            Gina K. pure luxury
Used:  Copics, pearls, stickles

From another PTI set (Autumn Abundance) I just got at the same time, I made this birthday card for another wonderful friend of mine.  I took some extra time on this one also.  Lynn - you know you're very special to me.  Thanks for everything!!

Stamp:  PTI Autumn Abundance
Paper:  My Mind's Eye - Bella Bella
            Gina K. pure luxury
Used:   Copics, BG ribbon, diamond rhinestones

And this one... I just LOVE Mo's Digital Pencil images.  They are ALL just soooooo fun!!!

Image:  Kai
Paper:  Basic Grey - Lemonade and June Bug
            Gina K. pure luxury
Used:   Prismacolor pencils/gamsol, BG buttons, crystal effects (on leaves)

Guess that's it for my first post!!  Next time I'll post something new -- WOOHOO!!

Thanks for coming by and hope you'll come back to visit and see what improvements I make along this journey.  I'd love to hear your comments, be they suggestions, constructive criticism, well wishes or whatever(?)!  : )

THANKS!  Denise
