Sorry to bug, bug, bug ya!!!

I just got this wonderful paper from the Archiver's store when I visited for the first time a couple weeks ago.  I LOVE it!!  It's from Creative Imaginations and I just think it's great.  I decided to team it up with the bug stamp from Whimsie Doodles "Stitch 'ems" set.

It's soooo easy to make a fun card when you have wonderful DPs to work with.  So easy AND such a pleasure.  PLUS, coloring up these little ladybugs was great too!  This set is really so versatile.  It includes six (6) images that are all just adorable.  Click on the Whimsie Doodles link above and you'll be taken right to it.

Each ladybug was cut out then placed on top of another stamped image.  It gave me just a little more dimension which I like.  Now, I simply have to admit... I must the THE worst cutter outer in the whole world!!  I don't know why it's such a challenge for me!?!  Even with these extremely easy to cut out images, I kept messing up.  I'll just have to live with bad cutting all my life, I guess!!

Challenges:
CPS - the sketch
Totally Paper Crafts - photo inspiration
Stampin' for the Weekend - card to make someone smile or cheer them up

Oh... and I wanted to share a little tip with all you prismacolor pencil folks out there.  You may already know this, but I didn't.  You cannot use copic markers over areas colored with prismacolor pencils.  I learned that the hard way with this card.  Actually, it looks like it works fine, but man... if you touch the copic area... it smudges!!  I solved my dilemma by putting some crystal effects over each and every black dot and that did the trick.  And now we know!  : )

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I'm always thrilled.  Take care and happy Tuesday!!

It's so hard to say good-bye

Just thought I'd pop in and share a sad bit of news with you all.  Don't worry... nothing terrible, but a tough decision none-the-less.  Due to the extreme changes which have happened in my life since the end of February (two grandkids coming to live with me), I have had to resign from a couple of my DT positions.  I will no longer be posting for Stamp Something Challenge or Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenges.  This was a terribly hard decision for me and I took quite a while making it.  I just loved working on these teams and sharing in the fun and challenges.  But, these kids just needed much more of my time and I had to step back and slow down a little.  After all, they are and should be the focus right now.

So... I say a quiet good-bye to both those great challenge blogs.  And a huge THANK YOU for allowing me to be part of the fun as long as I was.  But, like a bad penny, I'll keep showing up to participate in their challenges and hope you all will too!!!  : )

Thanks all!  See you soon with a new card.  Until then... HAPPY WEEKEND!!

Another Whimsie Doodles Wednesday PCP Challenge

Good Wednesday morning my friends.  Welcome to another Whimsie Doodles Wednesday Challenge over at Paper Craft Plant.  What are we doing this week?  Well... we're going MAD for PLAID!!  It's that time of year when I think about shorts... Bermuda shorts to be precise.  When I think of Bermuda shorts, I think of plaids.  Ya know, I've learned I just LOVE plaids.  All the companies make such wonderful plaid papers to work with, or ribbon, or even brads.  Soooo... let's get busy with our plaids!!

Here's what I came up with.  I know... I know... it's a little quirky, but it's really been growing on me!  I wanted a second plaid item and the only thing that came close to even perhaps working was this pink plaid ribbon!  So I decided to go with my unusual combo of colors again.  Sometimes ya just gotta shake things up a bit!!

You've probably already noticed, this entire image has been paper pieced.  No coloring on this card, not even any shading!!  haha!  This image and sentiment are from the latest Whimsie Doodles release set called Every Other Day.  This set has so many great elements.  I really love using it!  Very versatile!

So glad you stopped by today.  I hope you'll head over to Whimsie Doodles' PCP forum and join in the fun!  See ya there!

First Time Using Meljen's Designs

Hello stamping friends.  May I just say YAY... Monday is almost over!!  What is it about this day?  Always a tough one.  But, I made mine better by coming home tonight and making this card and for the first time, using a Meljen's Design digi image.  It was such a blast making this card, I can't wait for another chance to work with one of their images!

These darling little images have really grown on me and I've just been itching to work on one.  I decided to start with Teacup Mouse as my granddaughter, Madeline, has been requesting a rat as a pet.  Yep... you heard me right!!  Well... suffice it to say I've been a little hesitant about this!!!  Just doesn't seem right to have a rodent (for which I keep traps in one of my cabinets) in my home as a welcome addition!  Well... I've just about gotten around to saying yes.  Not yet, mind you, but probably soon.  {shaking head}.  hahaha!

Madeline is going through some really tough times, so this card is for her.  I am really pleased with it as it looks so crisp and clean to me.  I think she'll really love it!  Love you Madeline!  You really ARE my sweetie!

Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp! - the sketch
Meljen's Designs - flowers & blooms

Thanks for stopping by kids.  Hope you'll come back again soon!

It's time to Celebrate Something with Stamp Something

Happy Friday to all!  I just realized, I haven't posted a new card since last Friday!!!  Guess I'm just giving wayyyyy too much attention to these grandkids of mine that have come to live with me!  hahahaha!!  But really, they have cut back on my stamping and blogging time.  But of course, it's so worth it.  I just hope you'll have patience with me and still come back a visit.

This week at Stamp Something, the challenge is to Celebrate Somethings.  That is always a good theme as it gives us soooo many options.  Since I have no one graduating, getting married (until this fall), having a baby or anything else... I again chose to go with a birthday celebration.  I can always use more birthday cards and bet that's true for almost everyone

This week's sponsor is Motivet.  I haven't known about this company all that long, but have totally fallen in love with their images!  They are all so wonderful!  And, lucky for all of us, they have a brand new release that I think is absolutely great!  Please go check them out.  I bet you won't be disappointed!

This card was so fun to work up.  The Motivet image was a blast to color.  And I got new papers (and a couple other things!) from a store I just found in Kansas City named "Archivers".  They are not new and I've known about them for quite some time but had never actually made it to the store.  Stamping friends would drool when telling me what a great place it is to visit.  Well... I finally made it there and man... my friends were right!!!  What a fun place!  All the latest papers (and some of the old faves), great selection of stamps, embellies, storage, you name it.  They are now my favorite brick and mortar store.  I'll be going back whenever I can.

Other challenges:
The Sweet Stop - the sketch
Cute Card Thursday - someone special
My Time to Craft - tooooo cute!
The ABC Challenge - U is for unused stash
By the Cute and Girly - celebrations
Saturday Challenge - 3 embellies, 2 papers, 1 image
Crafty Catz - petals & pearls
Going Grey Challenge - animals (oops!!  this one needed BasicGrey paper!!)
Pile it on - cute & cuddly
Sweet Stampin' - color combo
Crafty Ann's - anything goes
Cupcake Inspiration Challenge - photo inspiration

Thanks for stopping by today my friends.  You always make my day and when you leave a comment now and then, it means so much.  Now... go to Stamp Something (and Motivet) and let's Celebrate Something!!

Lookie... lookie...

Hi all.  Just wanted to share the fun of what I won a few weeks ago.  Look and drool...

Isn't this all just wonderful?????  I was the lucky winner of some blog candy provided by Yvonne's Craft Creations.  And yes, those are Hanglar images!!  I was soooooo excited when I became aware that I'd won this little beauty of a prize.  Believe me, I was soooo grateful no one else was around to witness my foolishness!!!  haha!

Thank you Yvonne!  It was soooo fun getting this package in the mail and 'opening' these sweets.  The DPs and ribbon are even better than they look in this picture... and they look darned good here!!!  Stay tuned.  You'll be seeing these lovelies in the coming days and weeks.  I can't wait to work on one!!!  : )

I hope you all have a great 'blog winning' day!  See you tomorrow.

Stamp Something DT

Happy Friday my friends!!  How was your week??  Great I hope!  Mine... not so much but the weekend is right around the corner and that always makes me happy!!!

Another good thing about Fridays, it's a new Stamp Something challenge and this week it's Birthday Somethings.  This was PERFECT for me this week as today is my grandson, Jackson's birthday!!  He's 8 years old!  Happy birthday honey!!!  This card's for you...

Another great thing about this challenge is that the wonderful Whiff of Joy is our sponsor this week.  Who doesn't love their stamps????  Well, I DO!!  I have some of them and was planning on using one for this challenge.  But, wouldn't you know it... I couldn't find a one of them!!!  So sorry as I would have loved to have showcased one of their images.  I hope you'll enjoy this Motivet image as much.  I thought he was perfect for my little 8 year old birthday guy.

The lucky winner will receive one stamp of their choice from the new 'Get Well' collection.  In addition, since this is our 100th challenge, there will also be a mystery prize for a random player this week!!!  We just wanted to say an extra thank you to all our friends and followers who enter our challenges every week.

Oh, by the way... if the boy's head outline looks a little darker than the rest of the image, there's a reason for that.  My granddaughter was sitting at my stamping table (as it's also my computer desk) and we were just chatting away.  I saw her doodling on something, but I was somewhat distracted so didn't notice what it was.  Well... I noticed later when I went to photograph it!!  It took me a while to realize what had happened!!  I just had to laugh and thought that's her little spin on her brother's birthday card!!!  hahahaha!!

Challenges:
The Sweet Stop - the sketch
Simon Says Stamp! - birthdays/celebrations
Stampin' for the Weekend - a card for a male

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Birthday Somethings!!!

But Grandma... what odd colors you've chosen!

Welcome stamping friends!  I'd meant to get this second Gingerbread Collection post completed last night, but it just didn't happen.  So I hope you'll enjoy it today!!!

And yes... about the colors.  I was trying to go a little retro.  Anyone remember the avocado appliances and aqua blue dishes?  I see them all the time in the antique stores.  Well... I was trying to go for that feel, but not at all sure I made it!!  LOL!!  Please bear with me and them (the colors).  Maybe they'll grow on all of us!!!

Today I'm sharing the new Gingerbread Collection set from Whimsie Doodles called "Ginger Tea" (available with all other new releases on Wed., May 5).  Isn't it just adorable???  And so quick and fun to color up!  I'm going to send this card to a friend of mine who has been soooo supportive to me during this huge change of life since my grandkids came to live with me.  BTW... the kids are at grandpa's for the whole weekend... and I must admit, I've been really lazy... and LOVIN' being lazy!!!  hahaha!

Today, some of the other Whimsie Doodles DT members are sharing new Whimsie Doodles Collections with you.  Please head over to the Whimsie Doodles blog to see who is sharing today.  All these gals are great and so talented so I know you will NOT be disappointed!!

Others on the DT will be sharing more snippets tomorrow and I'll be back with cards from a new Collection on Tuesday, May 4th.  I hope you come back by to see what I've come up with and share in the fun on the day before the HOP.  Remember to leave a comment on the Whimsie Doodles blog for a chance to win the entire day's 'sneak peek'.  You'll have 24 hours to comment on that day's snippets.  So please, join in the fun.
