Saturated Canary Challenge... all about the B's

Edit:  Shared top 5 honors at Eureka Stamps

Good morning stamping friends.  Once again I say... YAY, it's Thursday and YAY, it's time for another Saturated Canary Challenge.  But, I'm sad today too.  This is my very last GDT challenge for Saturated Canary.  Yep... pretty sad (wiping random tear from my cheek).  OK... I not crying, but I am very sad.  Now, let's get to it, shall we?  The challenge this time is B's... use at least two items that start with 'B'.

This image is Rollerskating Zombie.  Isn't she.. ummm... "cute"??  Actually, she is a pretty awesome little zombie, IMHO.  She sure was a ton of fun to work into a halloween card.  It's been so long since I've made a card for halloween that I enjoyed it immensely!!  Oh... my B's are... Boo, Bat, Buttons, Brad (glazed skull), Black and Bling.  Not bad, 'eh?  : )  I hope, hope, hope you'll all be able to join in on this challenge.

I think that'll wrap it up today.  It's getting late (for me) so it's time to sign off and get some sleep.  Take care my sweeties... until next time.

Breast Cancer Awareness with lots of pink!

Good morning dear friends.  Hope your week is going well so far.  I'm having one of those kinda good/kinda sucky weeks, so I just sigh and say 'oh well...'.  It always helps to be able to color up one of Krista Smith's little beauties!  I just loved this little gal and wanted to work her up and send to a friends who's on the winning side of her fight.  For all those ladies currently in the midst of their fight, God bless you.  I'm wishing you all the best.  Soooooo... here's my Boobie Love...

This adorable image was a freebie I'd downloaded some time earlier this year.  What a great freebie, eh?  She really was great fun to color up and went fast too.  She sure looks like a sassy little thing, doesn't she.

Ya think I got a tad carried away with the pink??  Yeah... I know {nodding head}.  But, if you can't go crazy with pink on a Breast Cancer Awareness card/image, where can you??  haha!

Saturated Canary Smash Book Memories

Edit:  Won "One Big Grand Prize"  at Unique Crafters Challenge

Hello my friends!  I'm so glad you stopped by today.  I'm off today so I'm feelin' fine and doin' a bit of crafting!!  Love, love, LOVE a holiday Monday!!!  Today I've worked up another fantabulous Saturated Canary image called Smashy Bob.  There's another image much like this one called Smashy Curls so you can see that the Bob part is hair-related.  Cute, eh?

I'd originally gotten this image to use with my Teddy Bo images.  But I thought it just went perfectly with a smash book image.

I am going to repeat the plea (probably several times until the current SC challenge is over) I made in my last post regarding a wonderful charitable cause in which Krista is participating.  Here it is copied and pasted...

PLEASE, visit the Saturated Canary Challenge blog as Krista is generously contributing $1 for every entry into this challenge (up to 500) for a fabulous cause.  So check it out, have some fun participating and get all your friends and family to join in too, 'K?

It's Saturated Canary Challenge time

Edit:  Shared top 3 honors at Jackson's Digital Expressions

Hello all.  It's time for another Saturated Canary Challenge.  That's always a fun day in my books.  For this challenge our theme is Going Dotty.  Let's see them dots folks.  For my GDT card, I've used Washi Tape Kinda Girl at the Saturated Canary On-line Shop.  Like so many of us, she is soooooo in love with her washi tape!!  Too cute, right??

She was so fun to work up and went fast too!  For me, that's saying a LOT as I'm not exactly a speed demon when it comes to coloring.  LOL!  Oh, and BTW... she comes with her own sentiments too... three of 'em!!  Can't beat that with a stick now, can ya?  I do hope you'll be able to join us for this challenge.  The worst that could happen is you might have some fun!!!  {smile}

And... PLEASE, visit the Saturated Canary Challenge blog as Krista is generously contributing $1 for every entry into this challenge (up to 500) for a fabulous cause.  So check it out, have some fun participating and get all your friends and family to join in too, 'K?

Home... where the story begins...

Edit:  Shared top 3 honors at Do You Stack Up
Edit:  Shared top 3 honors at Inky Impressions Challenges

Good morning friends!  Welcome to my little blog today.  I just have a quick post to share another of Krista's wonderful images from Saturated Canary.  This little lady is called no bites.  I know... you're saying 'odd name for such a sweetie!', but she has an alter ego named my bite is worse than his bark and she's a bit of a vampire.  Ahhhh... now it makes sense, right??  Anyhoo... on to Miss "No Bites".

I think I say this with every Saturated Canary image I share, but isn't she simply sa-wheet!?!  Krista can just work magic with that drawing pencil of hers.  And lucky for all of us that she can.  IMHO.  I do feel bad for her little dog friend.  I have colored him up pretty poorly.  I tried to make him out like a pug but, it's a bit lacking, if you ask me.  Also, I don't think I've seen a pug with cropped ears... only floppy ones.  But they are so danged cute that I thought I'd give it a shot.  Oh well... try and try again.

Pals Paper Arts - da SKETCH -- I had to skew my image a bit as she was just too tall.

The Queen... more Saturated Canary

Morning gals and guys!!  I am soooo relaxed right now.  It's Saturday morning and I'm coloring an image and decided to post the latest image I've colored up which is The Queen from Saturated Canary.

I think she's awesome!!  Don't you??  Krista's SC images are just so fun to color up... I just can't get enough.  And I have quite a few more images that I'll be throwing out there as time allows.  This was my first card where I used some washi tape.  Yeah... I'm always about a step or two behind.  haha!   I tried to make this a clean and simple (CAS) card, but this is the best I could do.  I probably isn't actually CAS, but for me... it is.

Edit:  Shared top 5 honors at Love to Create
Edit:  Shared top 3 honors at Inky Impressions

Good morning friends.  Another Thursday brings another Saturated Canary Challenge.  That's always a good thing, right?  Let's get right to it, 'K?

This sweet gal is going places.  I sure wish I was in her shoes.  I love to travel but haven't had a chance to do much of it.  But I've promised myself a few trips before this show is over.  : )  This image is called Pack Light.  Ca-yute!  By the way... our challenge for this two weeks was my choice so I picked a photo inspiration as I just love those.  Hope you do too!

To me, the hardest thing about picking a photo inspirate pic is which photo to choose!  There are soooo many beautiful photos out there.  But, when I saw this on with the fab bicycle, flowers and outdoors scene, I was hooked.

Love to Create - sparkle
Inky Impressions - pearls and/or bling
Paper Pretties - square card
Crafting for all Seasons - bright colors

That's about all I got today folks.  Hope you enjoyed your visit here and will come back again soon.  You are ALL the BEST!!!

Morning folks!  YAY... it's Saturday!!  My favoritest day of the whole week!!  Today I'm visiting my son at his new home and getting ready for a cook out tonight.  I don't have a grill myself, so it's always such a treat to have someone barbeque when I'm visiting.  Today, I have another fab image from Saturated Canary.  She's called Jules.

Sweet, right??  I decided to work her up for my granddaughter.  She loves cats... primarily kittens and purple is her favorite color.  I think she'll like it.  She helped me pick out that K&Co DP one day when we were shopping so I know she'll like that!

Saturated Canary... coloring for fun

Hello my friends.  Surprised?  I know, I usually don't have another card to post this soon.  But I've ended up with the weekend all to myself and decided I was going to do whatever I wanted to.  So, of course, part of my day was spent creating a card.

I'm sure you're all saying "ho hum... another black and white card... she just did that!".  And you are correct.  But I just love them and decided to do another one.  Heehee!!  This time I chose Traveling Colors from Saturated Canary.  I do believe I have 'Saturated Canary fever'!!!  It's been sooo much fun coloring up her fabulous images that I just can't stop!!  Gotta say 'thank you Krista' for creating such wonderful images!!

Oh... and I must beseach you... no comments on the shoes, 'K?  {smile}  They are like the worst EVAH (coloring-wise)!!  And as usual, these pinks are just so much dingier than IRL.  I have that problem ALL the time.  ARGH!  One of these days I've just got to get some good lighting.

Edit:  Shared top 3 honors at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations
Edit:  Shared top 5 honors at The Crafty Pad

Happy Thursday folks!  Does anyone love Thursdays like I do??  I know there's just one last day between me and my weekend.  And I soooo love my weekends!!  But that's not why we're here today, is it?  We're here because it's another superdillyicious challenge at Saturated Canary.  Now that's a good day!!!

The only bad thing is I'm so danged late with my post.  It's been quite a couple of days and I didn't plan very well.  I won't make that mistake again... at least I hope not!  : )  The theme for this challenge is 'The Great Outdoors'.  Krista has some cute, cute, ca-yute images that will fit this challenge perfectly.  I decided to go with this beauty called Chasing Butterflies which is one of the latest images in the Saturated Canary shop.  Isn't she just all kinds of sweetness??  You never cease to amaze me Krista.

I went with my pinks again... obviously!  I just bought a pad of the new My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Dolled Up.  Such pretty designs and colors.  I added three of those silky ribbon flowers, some swirly pearls, black gems (in the butterflies' centers) and a sentiment and voila... a card for a friend, family member, helpful neighbor or whatever other situation you need.

A little bit Sassy

Hello my friends.  Hope your Tuesday has gone well.  Today I'm sharing a 'just for fun' card.  It's an image from one of my favoritest shops... Sassy Cheryl's Digis. Cheryl has some of the cutest images you'll find anywhere.  I decided to play with Let's take a dip.  Soooo danged ca-yute!!!

I've had this image for ages and I mean ages!!!  Don't know what took me so long to color her up, but I must admit I have a lot of images I've never gotten to.  I need to rectify that. I'd bet quite a few of us need to rectify that!  Am I right???  Anywhooo... I love this image.  I'm not at all sure I like the rest of the card, but this image I love!!

I colored this up a couple, three weeks ago and thought I'd take another stab at clean and simple.  Not a great success but I always struggle with this type.  I've seen sooooo many beautiful and perfectly clean and simple, but mine just never seem to look right.  {sigh}

Lucky me... GDT for 2 FAB challenges!

Edit:  Shared top 3 honors at DYSU Challenge

I've been smiling all week as I've had such a fun time coloring up some Saturated Canary images for my summer GDT duties for that challenge.  I get such enjoyment from working these gals (and guys) into cards.  Don't you?  AND, this week, I'm also honored (and crazy tickled) to be the Guest Designer for CMC Copic Challenge.  You know... with Suzanne Dean!!!  WooHOO.  So... let's get on to it.

Tada!  This sweetie is called Orchard Love and  I just adore her.  As I mentioned above, I've colored her up for my GDT duties (yeah... tough duty!!)as follows:

Saturated Canary Challenge  - black and white plus a splash of one other color

CMC Copic Challenge - anything goes but with a girlie twist

How's that for a couple of "can't wait to get started" challenges you just don't want to pass up?

Even though I've had such fun coloring up images this week, there has been some sadness recently.  Since the last time I posted, my dear, beloved great dane passed away.  Even though it's not him, he looked exactly like the photo I have under the "About Me" banner.  He had a heat stroke and his 9 year old body just couldn't recover from it.  My heart is broken as he was just so fabulous, but having my granddaughter with me has been a huge help as has my crafting.  I'll try to ease my sadness by remembering all the great times we had together... and there were a LOT!  I love you Roscoe and boy... do I miss you!!  Go run on dog heaven's levy like you did when you were younger.

OK... sorry 'bout that but I just needed to say a little good-bye to my sweet boy.  Thanks for being tolerant of that.

This last photo isn't the best, but i think it's fun to see creations from other viewpoints so I decided to go ahead and post it.  I'm also trying the x-large photo choice for my first two pictures.  I'll have to see if I like it or not once it's "goes live".  If you have time, let me know what you think.

Blogger Challenge - color splash (black and white with a splash of color)

Saturated Canary Challenge - 1st GDT card!!

Good Thursday morning all you fabulous crafters out there!!  This is an exciting day for me as it's the first challenge at Saturated Canary Challenges where I'm participating as GDT!  WooHOO!!  To be included with that list of talented ladies is just mind-blowing!!  Yep... it's a good day.  OK... 'nuff of that... let's get to it.

This is What the Librarian Reads... which is a fab new image from Krista's latest release.  I used her for our new challenge theme... BLING IT OUT.  It was great fun creating this card.  I'm not good at the 'over-the-top' embellishing that so many of you do so wonderfully, so this is pretty intense bling for me!  I know, it's not a ton, but I like it all!  I can't wait to see what the other DT gals have come up with.  As well as you!!

Now... just to share a bit about creating this card.  I like her with black hair, but that's not how she started.  Nope... she started out as an auburn-haired beauty.  Well... since I'd just used auburn hair on my 4th of July card (previous post), I just couldn't have two auburn-haired beauties in row, could I?  So, I got out my copic colorless blender and went to work to get that auburn color to disappear.  I was just sure it wasn't going to work.  By the time I was done and ready to start with the cool grays, she looked terrible!!  There was smatterings of light auburn left and all the "blendering" caused it to bleed outside the lines as well.  Again... no way this was going to work.  But I started in with the grays and I'll be danged if it didn't come out well after all!!  Of course, going with black hair instead of say... blonde was a requirement rather than a choice!  As I worked, I kept 'cleaning up' the auburn color outside the lines and finally, it was all good.  I thought I was going to have to 'shadow' her with some darker coloring, but no... not necessary.  I was just sooo pleased that I didn't have to go start from scratch.  That's one thing I've found about this new Xpress-It paper.  It cleans up really, really nicely.  Normally, I just have to clean up little spots, but it's even good for a whole section of an image.  {smile}

I'm adding a couple extra pictures for this post.  I visit a lot of blogs and some have a lot of photos and some have one.  I've been limiting myself to two, but I think maybe I like a bit more views.  So... let me know what you like, OK?  Just one, two to three or more than that?  I'd be very interested to know.

By the Cute and Girly -a day at... {anything you want} the library
Creative Card Crew - pearls and swirls
Crafty Calendar Challenge - flowers in bloom w/ optional extra of swirls/flourishes

Thanks for stopping by today.  You all just make my day and I'm always so appreciative of your visit!  Come back soon, 'K?

Patriotic... 4th of July... red, white and blue

Good Tuesday afternoon my friends.  Man... it's already 4th of July tomorrow!!  How does that happen??  Time just keeps flyin' by, doesn't it?  But since it is our nation's birthday tomorrow, I've cooked up a card that covers the whole gamet... patriotic... 4th of July... red, white, blue... and a whole lot of cute (image-wise)!!  This is one of Krista's new images called Hair Situation.

Now let me tell ya something.  That little lady does have lots of hair!!  And isn't it glorious!?!  This is my first stab at auburn hair.  I'm not sure I'm real happy with it, but I guess it could have been worse {smile}!  I'll keep working on it.  I'll probably try some other color combos to see what I like best.  If you have any suggestions that work really well for you, I'd love to hear about them.  I just love getting new ideas from my sweet commenters.

Let me ask you something... how are you with chipboard?  I've always fought with it and I was never quite sure how to get those fun shapes colored right.  Well... a while back I purchased a Jenni Bowlin acrylic pain dabber (cough syrup).  It is simply p-e-r-f-e-c-t!  I was soooo pleased that it covered so well and was soooo easy to use!  Now I have to go out to buy about fifty other colors.  haha!

It's been so great getting back into my beloved paper crafting/coloring again.  And I must thank you all for a lot of that.  You've been leaving me such wonderful and encouraging comments that it just makes me want to create more and more.  I just want to THANK YOU so much for that.  I really means the world to me!!
