I went to a birthday party today and the birthday girl was just adorable!! She had on her princess crown and necklace and everything a princess needs. Her name is Sherry I made this card for her.
Is this the most joyous little gal you've seen? I just love her!! I've had her for a couple months or more and am finally getting around to using her. What fun it was to make this card. I love the Cosmo Cricket early bird line and selecting, then using the colors to match those papers was tons of fun! Bright and pretty and whimsical. Just the way I like 'em : )
Oh... did I mention this little princess at today's party is turning 40? : )
I'm friends with Sherry's mom, Kathy, and know they are both huge Irish junkies. Kathy has Irish on her side so they come by it naturally! : ) Anywho... I wanted to add a bit o' the Irish to Sherry's card. I found this heart with a celtic knot enclosed within it. That was perfect!! And instead of the normal birthday blah-blahs on the inside, I stamped an Irish saying. I think Sherry enjoyed that I'd included those items on her card!
I got the layout for this card from a new challenge site. New for me anyway. It's called
Crafting Life's Pieces and Chelsea holds four sketch challenges a month. If you enter all four, you have a chance to win the monthly prize. I probably won't be able to fit all four sketches in, but so far I really do like what I see. She makes beautiful cards as well. If you can, go check out her blog and try a challenge or two... or four! This layout is actually from Challenge #19 found
here.
Other challenges:
Copic Colour Challenge - red (got it), pink, blue
Daring Cardmakers - Have a Heart
Allsorts Challenge - 3, 2, 1 - 3 of something, 2 of something else and one of something else. I've got 3 DPs, 2 stamps and one bow (or charm).

I meant to glitter up the butterfly and bumble bees just a little bit, but forgot. Also I added the little hand-written '40th' right above the space between happy and birthday. It looked perfect, but I decided to leave these pics as they are.
And that's about all I got done today. I guess I just needed to catch up a bit with my need to be lazy. Yep... yep... that's what it was, a lazy day with a fun birthday party thrown in!! Happy Birthday Sherry!!
I'm so glad you came by today. Please come again soon. For those of you who leave comments, thank you sooooo much! They just make my day!!!
